@VoiGAS I also agree that a new activity is warranted, but perhaps also a new feature for the existing hiking activity where you can specify the weight of the load carried. This makes a big difference in power output as you stated. And one rarely (?) hikes without some sort of load being carried. I hike with a weighed vest in late winter and spring each year to prepare for an annual pack carry test (firefighting) each May. In Strava I just note the weight being carried but the estimated power and TSS are all wrong for my body weight.

@isazi, Any idea why - 1, I found strange behaviour of the watch, no matter what battery performance I set on my custom biking activity, after every activity battery goes back to the “Performance” option. Generally, I keep settings to ultra. This will lead you to force-check everything again and again before you start the activity. (Basically, it does not save my custom settings for the battery)

To add to what others have said: Since the update about 18 months ago that added “distance to next waypoint” to bottom of the route/breadcrumb screen, I just use that in all of my longer races. This works because I leave the watch at that screen almost exclusively during races. But if I wanted to look at other data as well, I’d go back to using custom data fields like everyone else has suggested. An aid station every 5km is a lot! Is this a road race?

@Juan-Christoferson well, as I tested, the coach feature allows me to generate plans but I can’t sync the activities with the watch because “the watch is incompatible”. Also the SuuntoPlus Store is not compatible with this watch, so I can’t access new features as “strength trainning” that I aimed to do, or the badges related to the UTMB or other future badges that are related to the SuuntoPlus Store feature. So I suggest you that if you want to get these features buy a high tier watch than the Suunto Run. I mean, the watch is great but it doesn’t seem fair to have the newest watch and not being able to use the new features of the app. I hope this help you

Hi. Sorry for the re-opening this topic. I’m experiencing exactly the same issue. I contacted the support, and the only thing they offered was “can you do a soft reset and tell me what it does?”. Now thay want me to send it to repair and the watch os no longer covered by the warranty (for 4 weeks only ). I asked the support to provide me with a price estiamte for the repair, given it’s a known/common issue), but they keep on telling me “I’m sorry, I don’t know only the repait team can tell”. Not serious… If any of you has sent a watch to service because of this issue, how much did you pay? Thanks PS: incredible to see I have to pay to reapair my watch that died because of a corrupt update

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@thanasis said in Maps Partial Update Rollout, July 2025 [Limited Countries]: OK thanks for that. In this case the map box maps are somehow off. so i guess that there isn’t much that one can do or expect in this regard right? Sadly they are not as good as one would expect, and being one of the most prominent features of the new models, that’s very disappointing… inaccurate maps should not exist in 2025

@isazi Thanks a lot. Yes it’s related to the incomplete recording matter. Once saved it shows the whole route but if you want while recording to check where you started it deletes the first bits. Quite harsh once on glaciers where you need to follow the exact route back and it does not appear. But I guess you got what the issue is related to. Thanks a lot

Been a while since I’ve had to report this, but the bug with resources resetting to 70% when changing timezones still exists. See yesterday’s ludicrous resources graph: [image: 1755667737579-screenshot_20250820-062822.png]

@halajos yes, I was talking about “complex” structured interval (as we cannot define multiple set of repetitions with the standard “interval” option in sport modes)

@mountainchris here’s one issue I can not explain… I’ve started at my doorstep with clearly wrong altitude and observed how fusedalti had corrected altitude after the first “hill”. the route should be 99.something% symmetrical but a alti drop happened 1/3rd way back and it remained wrongish. the graph itself does not look like the sensor was blocked. no up or down spikes. but the last bit on the way home has a different shape than the start that was corrected by fusedalti. it would be interesting how often fusedalti kicks in and if it also considers gps signal strength for accuracy? I think it does, because if gps height is several meters off, it would unnecessarily “correct” an almost correct value. [image: 1650992338451-b9f29c17-0b90-4170-b49e-93f5bec312b7-image.png]

Whatever happened to the Suunto 5 Peak? I installed this beta release long ago, and never received an official update? @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos do you perhaps know? Whenever I go into the watch updates in the app it tells me the update will be older than the current version.

Yesterday I swam 50 laps, so 1250 m, but Race S fw 2.39. 44 only recorded 1075 m. It lost 7 laps! The first 20 laps I did freestyle + backstroke and the last 30 only freestyle (see image below). At the end of every 25 m I pressed the down button to track the lap. [image: 1742726260383-a412a7b0-1d44-4c68-b08c-4c9beaf73e72-image.png] I did the same training as the previous week, see https://forum.suunto.com/post/163734 Please Suunto, it’s time to fix the incorrect distance estimation in swimming. People can buy Suunto because it’s very nice but if it doesn’t do the main job (recording the activity correctly), they will go and buy other sports watches. Thanks.
