Yesterday I swam 50 laps, so 1250 m, but Race S fw 2.39. 44 only recorded 1075 m. It lost 7 laps! The first 20 laps I did freestyle + backstroke and the last 30 only freestyle (see image below). At the end of every 25 m I pressed the down button to track the lap. [image: 1742726260383-a412a7b0-1d44-4c68-b08c-4c9beaf73e72-image.png] I did the same training as the previous week, see https://forum.suunto.com/post/163734 Please Suunto, it’s time to fix the incorrect distance estimation in swimming. People can buy Suunto because it’s very nice but if it doesn’t do the main job (recording the activity correctly), they will go and buy other sports watches. Thanks.

@VoiGAS I see. I was under the impression it was throwing random numbers at me. Then out of nowhere End in 13,7km, then again random numbers every few seconds. It was not working well. I will turn it off the next time.

Notifications is the only one for me. There are 2 issues with the ‘do not disturb’ option in an activity: When you enable it for an activity it then doesn’t disable after the activity finishes. When you enable it you block not only general notifications but also all activity-specific notifications such as auto lap, above/below zone and structured workout alerts. The other item I would have added to this list is disabling the display - but that was added in a firmware update recently It’s great not having my watch light up a darkened room during a yoga cooldown

Admittedly, I use a Suunto Vertical, but I can see that the problems associated with swimming are common. A while ago I commented on another post on the topic, link here: https://forum.suunto.com/post/164078 I wrote there, among other things, that swim monitoring is the absolute weakest point in Suunto watches. This is my personal experience, but reading others, I have no doubt that I share the opinion of other swimming users. Almost everything works badly here, and the most important: counting the swum lengths of the pool, recognizing styles, completely ignoring other exercises in the water. So there is no point in complaining, because there are only two ways out in such a situation. Hope that Suunto will finally do something about it, or buy a watch that better monitors swimmers’ workouts. I write this with all new Suunto watch users in mind, because I remember my own frustration about two years ago.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I meant it is something the Aqua can do, but the Aqua Light cannot…

@jakexuan Thank you for your insight! It certainly is frustrating and does seem like it can be an easy fix… I do rely on the automatic interval count/timing and don’t mind the slight inaccuracy for the easy stuff, but when I am doing any type of speed work, I do need to have full control on the start and finish to have a fully accurate split times As silly as it sounds, I think my only option for when doing main sets would be to switch to a running profile and use the lap duration counter on there

@Stefano-M64 Hi thanks - are you 100% sure about this? It does read that way in menus but its not how it works based on mine and other commenter experience. If so - which FW are you on? I will try to reset the watch and see if it helps EDIT: You were right, thanks again. watch restart fixed the issue.

@ChrisA It was all black. But I think it’s because of the loaded track, maybe it had some problem. With other tracks it worked fine. Thanks
