Just replied to a post in the 9PP forum specific to this issue, but probably more appropriate to mention here… After the last firmware update I started getting frequent phantom alerts/vibrations - several per day with no message on the screen or apparent reason. In my case, this behaviour it disappeared after a few days without me taking any action, however over the last few days it has spontaneously started again - frequent phantom alerts/vibrations. Not sure if this was acknowledged as a bug in the latest s/w and we can expect a fix in the imminent release?

@andersan I was using a white 5 (with Suunto written on it in black) which started quite firm but softened with use, however it went from a lovely crisp white colour to more of a creamy chewing gum colour over a few months of use. I swapped it out for an 8 in orange, the colour has remained exactly as it was when new & it is sooo comfortable I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it or buying another, it’s a fantastic strap for sure I’ve got no experience with the 9 though so can’t offer a direct comparison for you.

Is it currently also possible to modify existing watch faces? I love the new anniversary face but the data displayed on it is not of use for me, would love to show stuff like my tsb, hrv, and resources on it.

@Egika I know I didn’t do anything else beyond switch watch face. I didn’t even change the Oragne color (which I like) and when I switched back the return to normal was immediately observable (I compare to the battery usage model I use for reference which is very accurate when used with my Athletics watch face setup). I’m on the Vertical 2. Maybe it’s different for others.

@ihikeslow when I select aerobics or Yoga sport mode, the GPS is switched off by default. How did you manage to get any GPS tracking with these in the first place?

An update, for the developers, in case this helps: the sunset alert notification (which I have set for 30 min prior to sunset) displays a time an hour before actual sunset as well, so its off just like the watch face. And best I can tell, its been that way since the time change as well. In other words: actual sunset is 19:56, but the notification says 18:56, even though it triggers at the right time (19:26 in this case) I also uninstalled and reinstalled the watchface…and it did not fix anything…

@maszop My watch was synced with the Suunto app before I set off on my run and I did wait a few minutes before pressing the start button.

Hi I get e-mails for each notification (I am developer of ErgSync) but I agree that it could be better and easier, eg apps and reviews could be accessible via web browser. Keep the reviews coming and I try to take the feedback into account in development of future versions. Martin

Just registered to let you know that I believe this is an issue with how SDS (the server interfacing w/ the IDE extension and the watch’s protocols ?) is spawned by the Suuntoplus Editor. I’m facing the exact same issue, only on a macbook w/ an M4 Pro chip instead of an M3 Max one. Running the following command starts SDS, which after a few seconds picks up the watch and starts the pairing process. SDS_MACOS_BLE_SCAN=1 ~/.vscode/extensions/suunto.suuntoplus-editor-1.42.0/node_modules/@suunto-internal/sds-as/macos/SDSApplicationServer.bin 9801 As a workaround, I tweaked my local version of Suuntoplus Editor to prevent it from starting SDS (via a coding agent, which worked surprisingly well from the first try), and I’m starting it manually in a terminal. The relevant file is ~/.vscode/extensions/suunto.suuntoplus-editor-1.42.0/node_modules/@suunto-internal/sds-as/dist/sds.js The watch is then displayed in VSC, and could be loaded with my app without any issue. A soft reset after using the chest strap seems to mitigate the issue… Edit: yesterday at 6 pm I updated the watch (version 2.53.42); the battery was at 40%. I went for a 30-minute run wearing the chest strap and didn’t perform a soft reset afterwards. This morning at 6 am the battery was at 36% (sleep, hrv enabled). So far, so good, I’d say
