Suunto Race 2 snap to route error..
-
Just been on a 14km run this morning and thought I’d try out the snap to route feature on a route I created in the Suunto route planner. For some reason after around 800m, the watch beeped to tell me I’d done 1km…the rest of the route was okay, but obviously the final distance is incorrect…pretty annoying actually!
This part of the route is pretty open and has never caused GPS errors in the past so I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? -
So it looks as though right at the start of the activity the watch has me covering .19km in the first 4 seconds (would’ve smashed several world records with that!) and then records the rest of the activity correctly.
I love the watch and just want it to do the basic things well, but this isn’t good enough…added to that, looking at the gps tracks afterwards it’s just not that impressive (this run excepted of course being snap to route).
I’m wondering whether I’ve just got a bad unit. I’m still within my 30 days to send it back so I’m contemplating ordering another one and sending this one back.

@shamilt1 Without current AGPS data, the watch has rather poor accuracy at the start of an activity, despite the green GNSS icon. You either have current AGPS data, or you need to wait a few minutes before pressing the start button.

@maszop My watch was synced with the Suunto app before I set off on my run and I did wait a few minutes before pressing the start button.
