Have to say, what you don’t know you cannot miss. But last year, in a very dark hotelroom, the screenflashlight of my race s was sufficient for my wife to find something on the table while I could stay in bed. So, for now, I’m in “what’s all the fuss about” mode. The digital crown of my race s is complex. Just using it to scroll up or down through menus or items is hideous. The 5 button layout of my previous garmin was better, but with touchscreen I don’t use the buttons very often. But to zoom in and out in a map it’s great. Again with a but. I was used to zoom on the garmin and it was horrible. Complex and buggy as hell. So is the crown just better that worst case garmin or would a 5 button Suunto implementation beat the digital crown? Might. perhaps. Not unlikely. Have to say, the race s provides the features I want in the smallest possible case, so the vertical 2 wouldn’t be competition for my race s (for me). So 5 buttons or a digital crown wasn’t a consideration. Have to say, 5 buttons shouts a bit more outdoorsy and a digital crown a bit more watch like.

@Tommy85 I’m working on something similar, an S+ app showing most available weather data the Suunto platform provides at the moment, meaning current weather + 7 hours in the future. I have a POC but need to work on design some more because there’s plenty of data and it’s hard to visualise it all on the small screen. I’m also thinking about incorporating a kind of moving widget that will react to users heading (fused compass and GPS) in order to show headwind and tailwind. So it’s plenty if data

Hi agree the app need a profound re-design regarding diving. Basic : log dives number log dives separate dives by devices, when dive with Nautic & Nautical S the dive get duplicate Tanks stats gas used PPo2 bottom time surface interval deepest dive longest dive ascend time ascend rate Total dives Total EAN dives Total Deep dives Dive plans Total time Max time Average time Max depth Average Max depth Min SAC Max SAC In my opinion should be a specific dive section inside the app only to log dives, and able to hide all the other activities metrics.

@claudio_101 The inaccuracy and inconsistency of the built-in heart rate sensor in the Race has been discussed here before. Suunto must be aware of this since they added a second sensor to the Race S, and people who reviewed both the original Race and the Race S said the S performs significantly better. Is that worth buying another watch? Not for me - even though I’m disappointed with the Race built-in heart rate sensor, I like the watch in every other way and consider it worth keeping. If I want accurate heart rate I wear a chest strap. But that’s a personal decision.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel No I do not think so, there is only a single output in the manifest and three inputs. It seemed more load related as staggering canvas refreshes removed the problem. Worth nothing, on at least one occasion the canvas went black first then as a consequence of the load resulting in handling of that exception (we think) we got the pool full.

@matram the HRM DUAL got its last firmware a couple of years ago…

Hello, Is there any timeline for the next update. I experience the issue when backlight stays on even when it’s not activated in settings. This drains batterry extremelly fast. I did not find a way to replicate the issue - it happens from time to time. If anything is to be prioritized I suppose this is it Thank you

@Montrod haven’t really noticed an issue . Seems like a few folks here have reported it but for me it seems pretty accurate.

I’ve had the same problem since the beginning. Sometimes the notification disappears immediately, sometimes after a long time, and sometimes only manually pressing the crown helps.

@matram ok right. I was confused. Workouts != activities. I can try to implement a workout upload but I see that ideally you need api access to suunto. for that I suppose you should mail them unfortunately.
