@Audaxjoe correct; you can “force stop” the app (SA) and it helps. Btw. I had this problem for a while, but it disappeared around two weeks ago. Maybe, the new version of SA solved it

@Armin-M it’s funny because it is just the way from the watch to the Phone not working. Information from the Phone to the watch worked well.

@Brad_Olwin thanks a million - it does the trick! I use the OPTICAL Coros Heart Rate monitor. I tried working it out earlier withe the zones, and that explains why it did not work. But I set several scenarios as intervalls in the app - for instance a mode with only one Intervall, very long duration, my max heart rate that can run in the background for every general easy training. I tried it out twice and it works perfectly fine :)) slightly laborious of course, but certainly something one can get used to. I’m so glad you proposed this workaround! Saved my trainings. Also I set scenarios for the actual interval training I’ll start soon - very convenient.

@Tomas5 That’s what Strava Live segments are for - you can see how many seconds you are ahead or behind your best attempt in real time. Suunto watches do support Strava Live segments but you have to have paid Strava account to enable that on the Strava side. Then you can create a private segment on a route of your choice and keep repeating it over time using Strava Live segments S+ guide on your Suunto watch. You can also use one of existing public segments and see where you stand compared to others.

They’ve just given me the problem and the solution: apparently, the watch has to be in contact with the skin. If you wear it over clothing, the wrist-raise gesture doesn’t work.

What’s happening to me is that in the Suunto app the intervals appear correctly, but when I sync with RunMotion they are not recognized. Does anyone know about this issue and what the solution might be?

I have this issue you described with my SV1… it appeared after the last firmware update. I used two belts, one was really new, both belts the same crazy behavior. In my opinion, it’s the watch firmware.

Not exactly topic but related… I don’t know if « uphill bug » has been corrected for ski resort native sport mode (it counts distances and elevations of lifts…what force to correct manually total distance and elevation to 0).

I’m still not sure it makes total sense, but anyway both Shimano Di2 and Shimano E-Bike systems (STEPS) were updated to support all bike/e-bike activities

@sky-runner Thank you for your response. I couldn’t react since I can’t log in on my phone. I was away a few days. I didn’t use snap to route. I was just following my route and decided to go different. I just ignored my watch and didn’t change a thing. Battery mode was performance mode. Hopefully I’ll do another run the next days. But these are busy days

@VoiGAS I assume that the issue is something like that. However, under the assumption that GPS is accurate, especially multi band which I used and is supposed to be very accurate, I would think that step count could probably be corrected by a better algorithm (assuming occasional measurements would miss a step, measure double air time or some other artifact).

@Brainicus ok I will test but am not convinced distance is from Stryd. I always get more distance with Suunto than any Garmin users. With Stryd previously witn auto calibration off distance was the same. I ran a 5km with three friends recently (post bluetooth change) and got 100m more using Stryd and Suunto. The next day we ran and I accidentally had gps off on my watch so 100% Stryd and our distances were identical. But I will test like you suggest with both on a straight route. I do not know why Suunto gives more distance than Garmin.

@duffman19 said in Suddenly while bike riding Connection HR Belt broken: @2b2bff I think that’s just what it does when it loses an HR signal. It takes the last read HR and continues writing it until it recovers rather than writing zeros. At least that’s been my experience when losing connection to an external HR. The watch will still show “–” though. Yes, you are right. Same things happen when connection to power pedals are lost during activity: the last measured value is held throughout the rest of the activity. It is such a bad joke as the last value is probably the worst you can record. If this situation occurs, no value would be better than that value because every other reading’s average now gets destroyed. The only “correct” way is to record that you don’t have the information and as such, no other calculated reading should be affected in the stats.

For those interested in seeing that the solar collector on your Vertical Solar is working when you are out and about, I’ve created a list of watch faces that can display Solar icons. I’ve looked through most of the watch faces from the Suunto Plus Store. What I’ve found is that the watch faces on the following list have the capability of displaying a Solar complication on the face. These complications are always those that are of the larger round variety of complication and not the smaller rectangular style. Of these, only the Vertical can show a graph of the sunlight harvested. Christmas wonder Color Explosion Data Outdoor Vintage Vertical Adrenaline Modern Analog Weekly Trainer Lion’s New Year Leap
