Downgraded to 2.53.42 after so many issues with Hotfix 2.56.28 - Race 2
-
Hello guys,
Yesterday I had to downgrade my Race 2 to 2.53.42 because it became practically unusable after updating to 2.56.28.
The main issues were:
- Display staying off during activities (running, weightlifting, trekking, etc.), regardless of AOD/Raise to Wake settings.
- GPS and HR unavailable in custom sport modes.
- Soft and factory resets did not fix anything.
- After a factory reset, the watch rebooted several times during an activity.
I had a few minor issues with 2.56.18 as well but nothing this serious:
- Blue icon on the activity screen A small blue icon now appears at the bottom of the activity screen. It looks a bit like an envelope and appears in every sport mode. Does anyone know what it means or how to remove it?
- Recovery heart rate screen has changed After finishing a run, the recovery HR countdown no longer appears. I used to see three fields: the countdown, heart rate, and BPM/s. The crown that shows the countdown visually, it is there.
For me, 2.53.42 is still the latest stable version.
Has anyone had similar problems with 2.56.28? If you downgraded and then reinstalled the latest firmware, did the second installation fix the issues?
Thanks!

@cverdu no issues for me so far…update went smoothly and everything seems to be working fine. I don’t have the two issues you reported. Aside from inaccurate sleep tracking my Race 2 has been flawless.

@scotta same here upgrade was a little longer than the advertised 10 minutes but so far no issues encountered.
