@Rayfox remove Gym Timer, select two other SuuntoPlus apps in Track Running, reinstall Gym Timer. My guess is that this will work, as both app slots are already taken by a different app and therefore Gym Timer cannot be selected anymore…

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Cycling Power Estimator: Are you using accelero or imu for the implementation? I’m computing acceleration from the speed delta between ticks, with some steady-state suppression to reduce noise. Technically the IMU looks like a better solution, but expensive in terms of resources. I’ll probably do 2-3 more rounds of testing and try a first release.

@runomatic said in Suunto and Concept 2 indoor rowing: @raven said in Suunto and Concept 2 indoor rowing: As for the watch showing 620m vs 500m, if the watch is using the internal accelerometers for pace (rather than a connection to the PM5) then that would explain it. Suunto always overestimates. I just did a 6km row a bit ago and Suunto thought it was 6.88km. Note you can edit distance in the session record. I thought one of the purposes of ErgSync was to ensure that the distance matches the ergometer. Otherwise, what’s the point of the app? Note I’m just guessing on “why” the discrepancy. It is likely simply a bug of some kind, but a bug of “writing the acceloremeter data not the PM5 data” seemed to make more sense than “taking the PM5 data and changing it”. For me, the point of this app would be getting power data, not distance. I treat rowing like cycling, doing power targets for time durations, and have rowing power zones I pay more attention to than pace, and likewise, cumulative kJ rather than meters.

Oh yes it could be really nice. I’m not sure it can be handled with the S+ OpenApps though ? It needs communication with the BT SMart protocol I guess. I’d really love to see this actually (switch between Erg, level, external)

Open SuuntoPlus was only released a week ago. It might be worth contacting Dexcom to ask if they have any plans to mirror their efforts with Garmin.

@Nikolai-Simonov If this feature can also help reduce the phone’s battery consumption, that would be amazing. Sometimes when we go deep into the forest, the phone keeps trying to search for a signal, which can drain the battery faster. I really like this feature and I hope it continues to improve. Keep up the great work with the development!

Great news! It would be fantastic if these apps could also be launched directly in the future (not just during training). That would open up even more possibilities. But it’s a very good start

Hey guys! If you’ve run into the ‘to many apps’ error, could you try the updated version? I’ve made some optimizations to the QR generation algorithm, so it should consume less memory now. Please let me know if it works for you!

@jason.scrivens Hi, it was the watch firmware update, therefore FW 2.50.26 on Suunto Race watch. I think that SA (android or apple) has nothing to do with this functionality. So, after the watch firmware update, it really works for me. I am in the pool at least two times per week and so far so good. There is another topic, which is maybe more for feature suggestion, but I would welcome if the swim rest time is not a cummulative time from all rest times between the laps/intervals, but the actual rest time after actual interval. so it should start from zero after each interval. But as I said, that is different topic.

@Egika I wonder how is race guide different than simply using a route for that race? Both elevation profile and aid stations or checkpoints can be on the route.

Same for distance is less. There is a backyard ultra inspired race close to me, but it only has yards that cover roughly 5km…

@Olaf-Gottschalk btw: I don’t understand, in which way it makes sense to count steps of an activity… Is it a training goal to finish the activity with maximum or minimum number of steps?
