I had a similar battery problem with my SSSWHR baro, where the battery would die at 30%. I was never sure how much charge it actually had. Sent it off to Suunto, they repaired and it seems ok now. Never had the issue with it displaying a different % when placing on charge, but when the watch does at 30% and I’d plug it in, it would show 30% again to charge up from. Same watch, had a battery issue, but slightly different to how you describe. (Incidentally, I’ve ordered a 9 baro now as there were a few niggles with then SSS that bothered me)

@bossmanthe If you do not have the baro model, which from the post I assume you do not, there will be no elevation data for the race provided by the watch. The GPS-based elevation data only works in Best mode. If you to not care about the elevation data, screen time out, no autolap, good fix, low color mode, no OHR should get you the battery life you need.

Thanks, @Andriy-Zarteskyy , but not of those steps solves the issue at all. It still remains there. The only difference is that mine (my TWO watches, both SST) has the same issue no matter what you do. In my case, if I connect at 40% and watch changes battery to 12% (this really happends), it does not come back to 40% even after reboot the watch. I know this is not my issue, and I’m pretty sure it’s a SST general issue with this firmware, but I don’t see a solution and months pass…

@Brad_Olwin I have done similar races with my Spartans. It was ok until this Saturday with “only” 6 hours of running:) So it definitely isn’t something that would bother me all the time. Except the previous FW Spartan issue (when the watch was randomly showing “arrow of death”) I’ve had no big problems with my watch. I love them and use them every day. So it really surprised me, when it randomly restarted during the race. But maybe it won’t happen again. And maybe the new FW will fix that. Who knows

I’ve just seen that there is no “multisport” entry in the list if you try to update the planned week activities [image: 1540373584057-schermata-2018-10-24-alle-11.27.26-resized.png] so probably it has been just “left behind” in “my training programs” > Edit

@Armin-S how you exactly know when you felt a sleep, for example I for sure know that for me it takes 30min till 1hour to enter the slee, by just checking hr graph so we should avoid calling resting time with sleep time

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in [Watch] SSU : altitude changes with temperature: This is normal behaviour. The altitude calibration from the GPS is never correct near by sea level. I am now actually at sea level for 1 mont and most devices report GPS altitude of -7. To obtain the altitude check also some phone app about what GPS reports. When you run the watch uses a feature called fused alti that calibrates constantly the altitude according to GPS reference combined with the readings of the pressure sensor. When you start a move at the first 10 mins it tries to calibrate the altitude of the starting point. Eg like auto calibrating it your self , but actuality happening while running. Thus you can have a different end point. Also keep in mind the pressure sensor can be offset by many factors that’s why fused alti is there. To “peek” also from another altitude source. Regarding the different gains , the barometric pressure change can affect it, however , also the route can. That is why Suunto count ascent , at a -+3m threshold. That means that if you don’t climb 3m in some minutes and you only climb 2 then it does not count. So for example of you were runninh stairs up, and you did 2 stairs of 1m each it will not count. But if you did 1step again after doing the steps it would. This exists there to reduce noise, eg even arm movement that passes 1m etc etc. I hope it helps. PS to test your sensor , try to rub behind the watch , eg increase temp and see if altitude changes. Or if you are at the sea place , wear the watch , leave it aside, wear it again and you should have always the same altitude. That’s is how I detect those so far. Hello and thank you for your explanation. I’m going to think about it.

@Brad_Olwin said in Training, intensity target zones, issue for multisport activity: @sartoric Do you have Default and Specific HR zones set (i.e. running and cycling)? If you did not set Default then the watch may not know the targets Default HR zones were manually set. Specific (HR, pace, power) zones are set by default … well … what a pun I usually use HR zones as intensity target for “multisport” or walking/trekking and it always works as expected. This is the first time I try to use the pace target when switch to running (in multisport)

After raising this here, I’ve been scrutinizing the HR data when running. In short, I don’t believe it. It was totally believable prior to the last firmware update, but now it takes longer to lock, and won’t actually lock unless the arm is dangling i.e. if the forearm is point upwards it refuses to lock the HR. As far as I’m concerned it’s as though the OHRM is not as sensitive/responsive, and struggles to register meaningful data when the forearm isn’t pointing downwards. I get data, but it’s not correct. If I look at my HR data prior to the fw update it’s solid and looks logical, but there’s no logic, or sometimes a lack of consistency to it now on many of my running activities. Boooo said the crowd, basically! Booo!

@kurt68 thats my problem, that i need the pc. so i have to fix the driver-issues on windows first. (hopefully just the drivers are the issue and not the watch itself) will see when there is time to do the next remote session with them and try. thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m using both apps on Android. Will deinstall MC and just keep the SA. I have again a 10k this Sunday, will see if the problem persists… I hope it will be ok, because I’m attending the Hamburg half marathon on the 01.07., and this will be my first half marathon in my life
