Restart of SPARTAN ULTRA during a race
-
@Zdeněk-Hruška One thing to try is reinstalling the firmware. Might be worth doing and see if you can get another restart. You could have bad hardware or there could be a recent bug in the latest firmware. If it is a bug, others should see it.

Did you carry your watch and have also the app installed? Would be worth to know that and pass that to support as well.
It would be great when SSU is on latest FW like the S9’s that will align soon, to check this issue again. There is a lot of work done for the SSU till it’s last update.
Welcome to the forum btw!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Thanks!:) Yeah the app is installed on my iphone but bluetooth was definitely turned off. But I use the app if that was your question. Like I said, it happened to me for the first time (hopefully for the last time as well). I will definitely try it with the new firmware and I am really looking forward for that! I was really upsett when it happened - you know I was tired and I was working really hard, you don´t want to deal with such issues in that state of mind and body

@Zdeněk-Hruška the question was whether you has you phone with you on the race.
The hypothesis is that the app on the phone may be interacting with the watch during the activity and may be causing some side effects -
@Yannis-Belouris I understand but all wireless connections were turned off on my phone, so I don’t know how it could communicate. If I turn off the Bluetooth there is no way app could connect to watch, right?
-
right that is correct

@Zdeněk-Hruška just checking. My case was similar.
Let see what suunto makes of it. -
@Yannis-Belouris Of course, no problem. I wonder whether it is strictly Spartan issue or S9 is affected as well
-
@Zdeněk-Hruška As for the S9, I have run a 100 mile and 100k race with it this year as well as some other long activities. I have not had a crash.

@Brad_Olwin I have done similar races with my Spartans. It was ok until this Saturday with “only” 6 hours of running:) So it definitely isn’t something that would bother me all the time. Except the previous FW Spartan issue (when the watch was randomly showing “arrow of death”) I’ve had no big problems with my watch. I love them and use them every day. So it really surprised me, when it randomly restarted during the race. But maybe it won’t happen again. And maybe the new FW will fix that. Who knows
