@macdav said in Suunto app on watch not running?: @macdav I had the same problem for the second time. Only reset of the watch helped. Is there any possibility to re-instal the app on the watch? well, now I can´t connect to he SuuntoApp on the phone. It looks like I am connected, but no activities are downloaded to the phone. Any idea? ![image: 1641384979965-screenshot_20220105_130748_com.stt.android.suunto.jpg]

@ursula-rumler … and search the forum for those keywords … you’ll be astonished by the search magic There can be loads of other reasons (thresholds, satellites etc.) I’m closing this one as duplicate (it’s a general topic and not S7 related). You can reply to one of the existing discussions

Those Suunto Plus functions are not the super smart thing out there, even if the name suggest so. Basically Suunto seems to have come up with this concept, to add features to their S3/5/9 lineup that would have had bigger impact on the firmware otherwise. As Brad pointed out, the S7 is a totally different platform and firmware and does not need this workaround for extras. Instead of having Strava relative effort in a S+ feature, you can just install the Strava app on the S7 etc.

@mcsolaar I have gone through this Body resources exercise extensively and my conclusion is after a while wearing the watch religiously over night and day it will work out the good body resources better. Also, I noticed that after a full restore to the watch it yielded to a better tracking. Let me explain, I went on a holiday and I used this period as a monitoring phase of my stress level and body resources. My findings are: Being active all day long and feeling shuttered by 7pm resulted in 1.5 hours of stress whilst working from home resulted in 6/7 hours stress this does impact your body resources throughout the day massively. Night time, despite finishing my day close to 20% body resources, a good night sleep resulted in a high HRV, indeed this explains why my recovery overnight was high. My take on body resources is if the watch is worn snug enough and measuring HR accurately it will produce accurate data. What’s would be beneficial is for Suunto to include a new tab in the Suunto app to display HRV reading plotted in to a graph over a 24h period. The information is translated to body resources metrics but one could argue that seeing the number of variability is better then just a an interpretation. The Apple watch offer a breathe app that allow you to take an instant HRV reading.

@michaelw - you don’t have to enter your profile into google fit - it will work without it, especially as suunto provides the suunto app for fitness tracking which is loads better than GFit offering. Would suggest removing your profile from GFit and just use Suunto. Then its just your wear os profile - which is same level of data you already provide for your phone.

@isazi ah, this must be it. she navigated a track and had 1s gps refresh plus something more activated and said that the watch shut down shortly before the peak, hence she couldn’t track the descent… crazy short battery life at least it was saved. we can adjust the rest if needed thanks mate!

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Not sure how it works fine for you, as soon as the screen dims (and presumably the watch goes into low power mode) the “Heart for Bluetooth” drops connection with zwift, I have to wake it up by pressing a button or do the wrist-turning gesture to wake it up. I’ve been running some app called FITV in the background so it seems to keep the watch -awake (obviously inefficient for anything other than this). Heart rate for bluetooth produced consistent results now with no drops.

Usually it is not necessary to use a high amp charger as the charging circuit in the watch will never allow high currents anyway. If the battery is in deep discharge then a state of the art charging circuit will trickle charge it until it can come back to a normal charge. This is why it can take a long time on the charger until he device comes back to life. Thus the recommendation for deep discharged devices is: leave it on the charger for a longer time. I would only call it defective if it does not come back after a day or so. This does not solve the initial high discharge though…

I use the alarm on my (Android) phone which in turn send the alarm to my watch. Even in Cinema mode it is possible to silence/snooze the alarm. It is a slight faff to do so, but it is possible. There was mention on this forum of an app that allows you to schedule the turn on and off of Cinema mode, so maybe you could use that to turn Cinema mode off a few minutes before your alarm goes off? In theory that should work?

For me TP premium wasn’t worth it, bought and asked for refund, right after I realized I wasn’t even going to be able to have my Peak performances tracked/detected because for example, my Suunto watch (according to them) recorded 5.01K or 4.99K instead of 5K (which on Suunto,Strava, RunAnlyze showed 5K) and there was no workaround, (not even from backend) that was a bad start Everyone looks for different things in the products I guess, if Suunto ever integrates TP plans somehow, I might look at getting TP Premium again

@egika said in GPS on/off: Most likely this feature was sacrificed for other more important ones due to the target audience of this model, which is not the mountaineer nut more the casual urban sports person. I’m pretty sure the urban dude would benefit from these features

@flypg I think it runs off your set sleep times to a degree. As if you wake prior to the end time, but then fall asleep after the end time, it will generally not record that sleep - it will instead give your resources a boost i.e. count it as a nap. The Garmins have had a recent update which included a host of firstbeat algorithm updates and it sounds like some reckon they are now seeing naps included into sleep (I hope that isn’t true and or is more a function of how they set their sleep times). # Personally I do not want naps included as sleep and do not think they should be, as they will often not properly include deep sleep and I like to track my estimated deep sleep to total sleep duration percentage (essential for my general well being and to control my chronic fatigue issues).

@al-sace If the symptoms are the same, it would be useful to add comments to the same discussion. If there’s no solution in the other thread … well maybe there isn’t one yet I’m closing this one to avoid duplicates
