@isazi Not only happen to me, from Reddit, but using Nike Run app. “Ran both nike run app, suunto and played music via navmusic for 30 minute run. For some reason suunto app only recorded half of my exercise. Might try again tomorrow if it is giving issues if i run two apps at the same time… also seems there is no way to get data across both platforms, only strava possible.”

@aleksander-h Getting music on the watch may not as be hard as your think. Coros has offline music, Fitbit sense has offline music - it shouldn’t be hard to add harddrive and and an app to play your own music content. So that should be pretty easily available to all watches. Streaming subscription services - big issue here is what deals have been made. In the past Spotify was in a locked contract with Garmin and Samsung (which is why not even Apple Watch had spotify) - however since the Google Samsung deal with wear os the contract lock with Spotify has changed, as all wear os watches and even Apple Watch now has it. This suggests that all manufacturers should be able to get a Spotify app now - that lock that Samsung had on it has gone. So manufacturers need to step up their game. What about other streaming services - Apple locks theirs, but what about Pandora & Deezer (both are on fitbit, and deezer is also on Garmin); and then there is also Amazon music (which is loads better than it used to be - would say as good as Spotify now in regards to their content - and this is on Garmin); and then you have YTM now, which I suspect Google would be happy for everyone to use… To me if you don’t have at least own music, you aren’t trying, as the at is the min, if you can’t get a subscription service.

@nikki_k Pinned at the top of the suunto 7 forum. One of the biggest issues with any bluetooth smartwatch is android/iOS itself. To keep the systems running smooth both operating systems have a habit of killing apps running in the background (some android manufacturers make it worse as they often tweak with android’s underlying RAM management system). Notifications etc are all pushed through the wear os app, so if this keeps on getting close, you loose notifications etc as you effectively aren’t connected anymore (even if you are by bluetooth). If on iPhone maybe someone else can tell you how to lock the wear os app into the background so iOS doesn’t kill it. If you are on android, then the overall process is the same, but depending on brand the names and where the function is, can be different. Your best bet is to long press the wear os icon - this should pop up a menu - look for app information (may be an i icon) - press on that which will take you to the app details/settings. Scroll down the settings looking for a battery or Memory setting option - press on it (if both you will need to check to see which one its under) - There should be 2 - 3 settings - read what they do, however one setting should allow it so that app can’t be closed (i.e. OnePlus has it under battery optimisation in the App settings - and under it there are 3 options - Intelligent control (android does its thing), optimise (doesn’t allow it to run in the background - useful for battery hog apps, that you don’t need to work in background i.e. don’t put gmail in here as will then not sync unless you have it open - app has to be open and in use), Don’t Optimise (this means the system can’t close it - and this is the one you want).

@northeast_trekker Good, the altimeters on both my S7s have been quite good. However, most of my climbs are larger (mountains) and not rolling hills. That is where I live and where my experience base is.

fixed the resources and sleep sync with a SA update. did a factory reset after discussing with support. GPS has since been able to lock but both times took 3 mins or so and accuracy was not good although I did not allow the watch to continue to “soak” reception prior to start which could be a factor. seems like the watch has not yet gotten AGPS logs.

@aleksander-h I suspected the TYM app and this just adds to that. I also found the Spotify app also chewed through battery.

@g-q NP - its not something that most pay attention to, and reason why it comes up on pretty much on every manufacturers forums.

@olymay said in is a system update coming ?: Now the weather is closing in (here in the UK) I will soon be running more with long sleeves and jackets. I’d completely forgotten about this problem . I’ll probably be using my SSU for skiing.

@brad_olwin said in 24/7 tracking not synced in SA anymore: before an App Store release. To clarify is this restricted to iOS or is it occurring on Android as well? Issue is fixed with new public SA release on iOS.

@steff said in Suunto app watch problem: @jamie-bg I fixed the problem by clearing the data of the Suunto Wear Service on the watch. The problem, which I expected, is that I lost all the stats from yesterday which were not synced with the phone app and all history of stats, activities and routes from the watch app. Only clear data and cache from App on suunto Phone App, then login, and Data Sync, Steps and Activities, but not for long I got same issue again And after that removed Watch with Factory Reset but it is not helping. This is a Screenshot after this. Battery Savings Settings from Phone are correct. That Issue must come from last Update. [image: 1633116008727-screenshot_20211001-170410_suunto.png]

@manon-rasigni as long as you have set location to on, on the watch, then it should work without your phone (assume you are referring to getting GPS without the phone). Will say that sometimes it may take a while to get a GPS fix, and to sink all the data. My suggestion would be to sync your watch with your phone, then disconnect the watch, then go outside and wait for GPS connection. Preferably make sure that you are outside with a clear view of the sky (inside, right next to tall buildings/trees or under them then GPS may not get a fix- your phone isn’t either, but due to having wifi and mobile network connections its able to determine a position based on them without GPS working).

@jamie-bg said in Google Health Services: @aleksander-h - as I said - its clunky, and yes it possible to get around it, or you could just buy a oneplus at 2/3rds of the price, get hardware almost as good, don’t have the issues around having to uninstall apps you will never use. But even OnePlus are heading in a similar direction to Samsung now. They have their own skin in Oxygen and whereas they used to be almost stock Android, they are essentially merging with Oppo and it will soon be almost unrecognisable as Android. Oneplus also have one of the worst update records (although still not as bad as Motorola) and that is the main reason I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone anymore (I used to love OnePlus and have had three of them over the years).
