@Fwinns said in Suunto app sync issue: @Stefano-M64 Yes, I did that the first time (unpair/pair, reinstall app), no change, it was the same Suunto app version. I downgraded the watch firmware yesterday, to see if it solves things you can also try to logoff/login from within the app and then sync again

@PetrMisek maybe there is also an option to calibrate the sensor, does anyone know? I think that for the S9B this option was somewhere in the service menu

Hi, I just got a 9 peak pro yesterday and I noticed that my birth year I set from the watch is not showing correctly in the app personal info. No matter what year I set in the watch, it’s always showing 1 year older in the app. The Suunto app version that I have is the latest one (5.1.7) and the watch is also up to date. I already tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app on my phone and even resetting the watch but I’m still getting the same issue with the birth year, it’s always showing 1 year older in the app. Whatever year I set in the watch, after syncing it will show as 1 year older in the app. Is this an app bug of there’s a problem with the watch? All other info are correct, except for the birth year. Thanks!

@maszop That’s not what I meant. If you look at the HR before the 40 minute mark you see an average of 100-something. After the 40 minute mark 80-something. One of them is incorrect. Especially the sudden drop shortly before the 40 minute mark is not possible. I have done an experiment a while ago with an Epix Pro, using an Coros HRM and the Race S, waking a walk. Neither of the watches was spot on. Have to look it up. But I guess I should start a new topic for this…

@daniele-celauro I’m having the exact same issue on S9 1st generation. HR tracking worked fine a couple of days ago, but today completely vanished. Have you solved it?

I had exactly the same experience with my 7. It had one new screen under warranty but was out of warranty by the time it burnt the second time. When it refused to stay connected to my phone I called it a day and bought a Race which is fantastic, and twice the watch the 7 ever was. I think it was a misguided product from Suunto, but everyone makes mistakes and knowing what I know now I should never have bought it. Everyone makes mistakes though, and more than happy to buy another one.

Merci ! Björn

Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@isazi thank you for the update. I wasn’t sure my description was detailed enough, but apparently it was. I was guessing it had something to do with the out and back nature of the course.

@Sebastiaan-van-leeuwen I’d really like this feature. Sure some people won’t, but having it as an option would be super useful. Currently I’m essentially only using the map screen on new routes, making the rest redundant as I can’t be switching all the time.

@timecode said in 7-day HRV average on "Recovery HRV" widget: I don’t want to open a new topic, but not sure if it’s related to the latest update, or I am just remembering that the HRV used to be displayed differently. My last nights HRV was 38, but instead of showing 38 on the graph, it shows the 7 day average - 44. Was this always like this? Or I am just not remembering it right? I remember it showing my last nights value on the graph - not the 7 d.avg. Can someone advise on this? Thanks! The last Night is written under the Graph.

@dpeuser Detlef, i think it would be possible. In the suunto api there is a hrv value from the 24/7 datasets. https://apizone.suunto.com/api-details#api=new-247-api&operation=daily-activity-samples I really like the body battery / stress from my garmin device. It measures hrv intraday when you do not move or are active and compares that to your baseline. It works quiet good for me. I use it as a review tool to detect my stress situations (hello alcohol) and stressed moments in work to reflect these situations. It is much more than a toy and many sport reviewers like dcrainmaker find these tools quite useable. HRV as a stress indiciator is used by many companies (whoop, oura, garmin) Data is there and needs to be processed. If somebody does not like these information he just can switch off the widget.

Sorry to revive this dead thread But I had to share this with you, guys. Yesterday there was a powercut when I was at work in the underground (no windows), I just had my watch with me. Naturally, the first thing I tried to get an improvised flashlight was turning on the backlight of my watch. But that was of no use - even at the highest brightness and with white background, the intensity is just not good enough… The way to go is quite different! Consider this as a life-hack In these situations, you just take the watch off your wrist and activate the optical HR measurement. The optical HR sensor LEDs are much brighter than any “backlight flashlight”! Their flashing is slightly annoying, but better than nothing in such situations…

@sartoric - apologies, I misread and didn’t realize these are the repro steps: start training with 10s screen timeout pause training, allow the screen to timeout click the lower right button when screen is timeout, note new lap created on SSU I’m able to repro this on an SSU but not on the S5 with older FW 2.14.16. The SSU is reasonably logically behavior. If the training is ended by clicking the “End” button when the display is lit, the new lap will have 0 seconds as its lap duration. Presumably resuming the training will start into the new lap created during the pause. On the older FW S5, the lower right button press in screen timeout will bring up the anticipated training status screen ( Resume, Paused time, End ) and will not create a new lap. This also seems like the better choice.

@scafroglia93 a dedicated step mode might be a bit too specific, but maybe a step (stairsteps) counter as an S+ app would do it if you could activate it in your preferred “gym” mode?

@Durri definitely not necessary. While I am not really sure if you off-time sleeps will be handled as sleeping or napping, just leave it on and let it do it’s thing. Then we like to hear about your experience!
