@ChrisA I think for a generation of Whoop/Garmin/Oura kids who cannot remember a time when the only running watch was a timex ironman this can probably be very frustrating. We have so many people now that rely on their watches to tell them what to feel or think about a workout. I think it is super important for any athlete to not rely on algorithms and upsold company metrics to tell you how a run went. The magic of Suunto and the runners that it sponsors like Courtney Dauwalter is that they will not promise you gimmicks like body battery and stress scores. They will tell you to learn how to listen to your body as you start to build fitness. They will tell you to check in with your body daily to determine how you feel rather that look at a smartphone app. RPE mixed with heart rate tracking can be a huge part of learning how to train. Zone Sense helps me confirm that information. But it is not a magic button and it does take some savvy and dare I say research (ie reading what kind of workout it is actually for) to understand what it is that it is tell you. One example I have is I did a long intervals session where I thought the RPE was 9-10. The intervals were long enough to register with zonesense and how I interpreted the information was maybe I could have done a bit more.

@t-Dox said in Did support forget about 9pp software issues?: Hello everyone, I’m sorry to have to open this post but the 9pp has been having major software problems for almost 6 months… I don’t understand if this choice is the result of some internal decision at Suunto, but I find this endless wait unacceptable. Do Suunto support plan to do something about it? Or do you think your customers will remain such forever? I am shocked by the lack of seriousness shown by Suunto Update: I installed the latest firmware yesterday and am testing it. Fingers crossed

@Tieutieu I accidentally removed OTA 2.39.44 from my watch. I want to download it and keep it as a backup on my device.

@ElectronBadger I’m also still impressed with the accuracy of GPS-based pace measurement. It’s superb.

@TuanNT said in Suunto Race S optical heart rate sensor accuracy: This morning, while seating at the office, My heart rate should be in normal range 45-50 but it is bump up to 90 - 100 While reading this I decided to check what my Race S is currently showing as I am taking a coffee break at work. The watch is showing 120-140 while I am sitting still and my pulse is clearly about 50 - I have manually counted it. This is ridiculous!

@Fenr1r thank you, I’ve got access to both IOS and Android devices. Waypoint coordinates currently exist in the Garmin / BaseCamp (MapSource) eco system right now.

@Strajamoned I slightly lowered the zones for cycling and forget it. Anyway, during my last ride, Zone Sense detected my aerobic threshold at the same value as when running.

@jodyparisi For me this feature seems a bit unfinished. However, you can click here for a zoomable version [image: 1742886939871-screenshot_20250325_091144_suunto.jpg] It would make more sense if clicking here would open a customizable analysis view like for other sport modes.

@jodyparisi I fully agree. We don’t need a workaround, we need a proper solution. Either possibility to disable autostart and/or choose mode for autostart and/or autostart in same mode as last used

I agree with these ideas! Although if I had to boil it down to bare necessity, it would be to at least know which interval you are on. Unless I missed something, I could not figure out a way to see this on my Suunto Ocean. When doing 15 reps, it’s easy to lose count. My old Ambit 3 would give me a record of 10/15 for example.

@BrunoH Thank you for your reply. I didn’t think about it but you’re right in thinking it would be a hopeless. Anyway I can’t understand the correct use of the PDI (Point Of Interest in italian) where you can choose things as Reef, or Wreck, or anything connected to diving PDI. It seems I just can use them while I’m on the boat.

Chase the summit made an interesting comparison on VO2 Max between a lab test and different watch brands. In this video he uses the Race S. I kinda like the results https://youtu.be/i3O1cpQqFhw?si=sgYLZAmd1N595lDx
