    @MdzOtt Cycling is handled differently than pedestrian activities. It is much easier to calculate distance from cycling as speeds are faster and any deviation in the GPX trace from a bad GNSS signal is minimized since the points are farther apart. What @jjpaz has pointed out is that something has changed in the way running distance is calculated. It is no longer derived solely from GPX distance.

    @James-Wylie That would also be great on the default watch face of the V2 as well. Currently, you can’t edit the bottom section. The weather information is rarely accurate for my location, which makes it pretty useless for me. Being able to choose a different option there would be a nice improvement.

    @Liviu-Nastasa That aligns with what I’m seeing. Looking at reviews of the watch when it was released, some criticized it precisely for not being as accurate in GPS tracking as previous models and for overestimating the actual distance. Perhaps the algorithm was corrected in the November update, and now it reports a shorter distance than the actual distance… I’ve had the watch for a week now, with the November software (and since today with the new update). I’ll test it again against the SV tomorrow. An example from yesterday activity: Suunto Vertical, distance showed in the watch: 12.48km. Distance showed in GPX file: 12.49km. [image: 1767796282319-selecci%C3%B3n_5035.png] Suunto Race 2, distance showed in the watch: 12.33km. Distance showed in GPX file: 12.49km. [image: 1767796325633-selecci%C3%B3n_5036.png] So Race 2 is “cutting” distance respect data showed in GPS data file. May be this behavior was introduced with november update. Furthermore, you can see that the Vertical track seems cleaner in the various curves and loops. I went through the same route several times; it’s a park I do six or seven times, looping around it.

But I still prefer Strava route editor because heatmap data is better and because I can overlay Strava segments. And by the way, Strava route editor does support on-route waypoints.

    @rikohock I had this problem once or twice, quite a while ago, and a somewhat similar problem – the inability to delete routes from the watch. But I haven’t noticed anything like that in recent months.

    I will reply to myself, since my last post saying that I got bad ox saturation got downvoted, I understand there is some distrust in my claim, i re-enabled the widget (that I removed because the last time I used it my watch rebooted itself…).     After 17 walking activities with SV2, some on flat terrain and some on hilly terrain I got 1st V02max today. It was a brisk walk on flat terrain in zone 1 with good GPS and OHR. Great way to finish this year.

    @sky-runner your first point even weight more if you don’t turn a map in the size of the screen, but a map that is larger than the screen, as the centre point of this “disc” is off-centre of the watch screen… IIRC Garmin just uses the RAM of the SoC and Suunto use the same SoC (at least in the Race and Race S) with additional RAM. From my memory it is 11 MB, but that doesn’t really changes the whole situation…

    I use the Race 2 with Wahoo HR strap and it works with no issues. The strap connects to my bike computer and the watch when I ride, or just to the watch when I XC ski.

    I would very much like to disable VO2max detection for trail running activities too. When I owned Garmin, my VO2max continuously declining because a do at least 1-2 serious trail runs per week on a steep terrain. Once I disabled trail running VO2max on Garmin, the estimate steadily went up from 47 to over 52 in just a few months. Now, that I have owned Suunto Race S and S for over a year, my VO2max has been stuck in the 48-49 range, occasionally going to upper 49. I feel that is a bit too low. Every time I do a trail run, it always goes down to lower 48 or even upper 47. The funny thing is that I am a relatively better trail runner than I am a road runner. I have good and efficient technique when running on technical trails, but despite that the VO2max estimate is always punished!
