@gerasimos no, but there are no powered electrical components (passive NFC antenna), and I imagine no air due to the moulding, so no compression/decompression stressing the plastic. Just a lump of relatively incompressible solids. My bigger concern would be it not being a diving strap, is it big enough to go over a wetsuit? And as others have raised about the Ocean’s strap, if one of the strap retention pins fails, the whole watch falls off.

I’m not aware of a specific limit for structured workouts (on my Race S the total number of ‘apps’ is apparently limited to 100 which I assume includes workouts) but I do know that the more you have the slower the watch sync’s and recent versions of the app for iOS seems to have some additional issues with syncing. At the moment I’m finding more than 10 or so apps (including workouts) gets pretty slow. For a smooth experience I’d personally recommend limiting the number of workouts to 4 or 5 - maybe a week’s worth - and also setting dates on them (just so the watch asks when you start an activity which is convenient). You can have more setup in the app but just don’t have them pinned/sync’d to the watch. As a side note, you can reuse structured workouts so if you have a few that repeat through your training you can just change the date (for convenience) and pin/unpin them as required. Specifically for iOS, it is slowing down based on the number of apps (and possibly workouts, not sure) even if those apps aren’t sync’d to the watch. Simply having them bookmarked/favourited seems to cause the issue.

@Mauerwegler thank you for the advice. However Ocean has the particularity to be a dive watch with specific features : we want some features that don’t exist on the others…such as customizable dive screen to have TTS/AI/NDL/dive time/depth (and maybe compass) on the same display.

@TomCz Ocean is a great hardware, that could easily compete with Teric and MK3. However, it is totally limited by the firmware. I hope it changes in the future. If you really need trimix, by now, ocean is not for you. Until trimix, Ocean needs a lot of updates on the screen infos, screen organization, screen customization, dive planner, compass, GF99, SurfGF…

@benedikt76 I couldn’t agree more with you. If all (or better most of all) agreed on 3 minutes at 5 mtrs, why isn’t it possible to adjust this in my Eon!? This has got nothing to do with Haldane’s tables. When I first started diving (1976) the ascent and descent speed was 18 mtrs/min. Nowadays it’s 9/10 mtrs. So if thais van change overtime in a divingcomputer, why can I not change my safety stop parameters into 3 minutes at 5 mtrs? It makes perfectly good sence.

@Elo_uw said in No DIVE PLAN?: my computer because I don’t feel safe using it. I will do the same, if suunto does not solve this, I will sell it and will update to another computer that is safer.

The whole Suunto is a big disappointment for me. I’m having my D9tx serviced, and have been offered a replacement Suunto Ocean from the service centre as the D9tx are beyond repair. I accepted the offer, paid and now I’m waiting for my new watch to be shipped. Up to tree week. As I am leaving for a diving safari soon, I have written to Suunto support several times. They have always told me that they will resolve my request and I will receive an email within a few hours. It never came. Suunto has lied to me repeatedly through their support. According to me, they do not stock the Sunnto Ocean. Now that I have five days until my flight I don’t know what to do. Get a refund and switch to Garmin? Wait? How long? I can’t fly without a dive computer. If Suunto hadn’t lied to me, I could have borrowed a computer somewhere. But where am I gonna get one in five days? I don’t know how they can lie to me like that.

Thanks @Frank-Scholer, that does make sense. I’d say that’s a pretty significant error in the manual, this is the measure of air remaining after all! Agree with you re. the current arches not being helpful in general. Since I have to choose between compass heading and tank pressure display, I’m just trying to make use of the arch as a workaround to that limitation. The more I think about it, placing this cognitive load on the user during a dive seems quite problematic and a questionable design decision from a safety perspective. A graphical compass (with the heading numerical value also always displayed) would be a much better use of this space, with the tank pressure value only shown numerically (at the same time as heading!).

@garethm there are a couple of other field testers who monitor this forum and transport issues and ideas to Suunto. Other than this the Suunto App recently gained a feedback function for everyone to use.

@VoiGAS thank you. In general, I set the brightness to medium… within the sport modes I don’t know how to do that. Raise to wake is enabled.

@Mff73 As the music player is a much wider issue. It isn’t limited to being underwater or a specific watch.

Suunto Zoop dive computer uses the Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM) algorithm to calculate decompression, while Suunto Ocean is using Suunto’s Bühlmann 16 GF dive algorithm that is based on the Bühlmann ZHL-16C model. You must set GF factors in your Ocean to have a NDL close to Zoop. However I don’t believe will be possible to get the same results.

I would recommend to install and connect suunto app on a another device for testing this issue. Maybe the expensive bad bug suunto isn’t the reason for this issue. Its not impossible that your current device is blocking there somehow… There are so much different devices, with different kind of software on the market, no company, no developer on this world is able to proof all this variances. Developers need feedback from custumer side if something not running good…
