@Brad_Olwin with Stryd that’s work very well but not with the power include on SV. The algorithm doesn’t take into account the ascent and descents. Hope that will change soon…

@markeczzz interesting observation. Do you have an idea what could be different for the watch when you are climbing? The watch is basically trying detect the capillary blood flow. Bad measurements could come from a too tight strap (blood flow interrupted), a to loose strap (watch shaking and thus variation in the optical path), cold temperatures (capillaries have less blood), using poles (introducing rythmic vibrations of the watch), tatoos, etc. What parameter (within arm/watch) are changing when you climb? Maybe you can observe anything?

@isazi That is amazing, TBH. If I were @Justin-0 I would stick to that brand to the very end

@harlanstockman said in Allow routes to show on map when they are not navigated: I’d guess the garmin 65s has a more sensitive antenna For sure it has a “real” antenna

@gone-troppo they will, probably, but I doubt it will ever make sense and cover all cases. Those algorithms are based on observation of the physiology of people running, but trail running has too much variability to ever reach a similar stability. You could be just running flat on a trail, running uphill on good trail, running on technical trails, pulling on chains on very technical terrain, and for the watch you’ll just be exhausted and running very slow. It is not just altitude gain, that’s way easy, is the variety of terrain that will never allow such algorithms to work.

@markman8 @markman8 said in Last pool length memory recall: Right now it goes back to 25m for metric settings. Sorry for the wrong info. It did go back first time that I set it to 20m for some reason. It did not happen from there onwards. It correctly keeps the last session’s pool length that it was set.

@Brad_Olwin Thank you. I didn’t manage to download maps over my mobile. But I must admit that I tried with three maps at once. Maybe that was the point. I have the assumption, that SV lost the connection to the iPhone very quick again, after it was established (tethering symbol was shown quickly in the Dynamic Island). Anyway, the download of maps went smoothly at home over my WiFi there.

@isazi Thanks a lot. I followed your suggestion. The first sync after app reinstall was extremely slow both on SV and S9PP, but after today’s activity appeared. Really appreciate for your help

@MacSpikes Unfortunately to be able to compete with the golf watches that are out there you need far more than just a map of a golf course. Effectively the topo maps are pretty worthless for golf by themselves. Ideally the course needs to be remapped and at the very least you need distance to front/middle/back of green, distance to pin - and ideally should be able to do this for all hazards on the course - so a view of the hole would also be good. Then ideally should be able to track the distance of your shot, record how many shots and putts taken and then have a scorecard of some sort. Ideally you should also have a tournament mode so that certain features can be disabled so can still use while playing a tournament. Then you can come onto the serious features i.e. tracking the lay of each shot, swing details, green contours, the ability to include play like distances (so taking grade of course, wind, weather, pressure into account) and get suggestions for your club. Seriously this would take a massive amount of investment and would be competing in areas against a host of watches that are extremely embedded. Garmin offers a range of golf watches main focus is golf with a bit of side tracking of other sports - they also now all track health etc. Then you have watches like the Garmin Venu 2 which offers equivalent to garmin’s basic golf tracking / Instinct 2 - between basic & mid-range / FR965 & FR955 about equivalent to garmin’s mid-range S42 series / Then you have the Fenix/Epix which offered pretty much everything their then top range S62 offered - but since superceded by S70 just released. But still offer most of this - just packed slightly differently and improved (no idea yet if these changes will roll out to Epix/Fenix). S70 review (give you an idea of how it works on the watch) - https://youtu.be/DEcG0dakEz0 Garmin golf science (what they offer): https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/garmin-technology/golf-science/ And of course there is the golf app that goes with that (see right side bar links to the above link). Suunto would have to invest a huge amount of development into being able to provide something like this - and then have to build out their name not only alongside Garmin but others that are as well recognized i.e. shotscope / skycaddie / bushnell/ Voicecaddie / golf buddie / tec tec tec / And then of course wear os / apple have apps like Hole 19 etc that you can use - and of course can always use phone (and apps like hole 19) and range finders…

i think the notifications background color should follow back your watch face background, i.e. dark or white. standardize the color should be good according to your watch face background color.

@isazi Resume function would also be nice in the case of a sudden freeze/reboot of the watch. A long time ago I had a Garmin and during a workout it crashed (happened only once). After restart I could simply resume the activity and no data was lost.

I will love to have multiple alarms, and also the possibility to change the snooze period, but I’m not going to sell my watch for lacking those features. I think, these kind of minor issues, are not deal breakers, but are daily frictions that after long time can make you not so happy Happy weekend!!!
