Turn off touchscreen
-
Interested in a Suunto Vertical as a replacement for an aging Fenix for daily wear and training. I work with my hands and would like the ability to turn off the touchscreen at rest (not just during acitivites) in order to avoid accidentally toggling it. Possible? If not, possible with a software upgrade?

I ask the same thing, there are times when it is impossible for it to be blocked, for example in the rain.
-
@dcgm0 the touch screen is disabled automatically a minute or so after the last interaction.
You then need to press a button first to enable it. -
@Egika during this minute I need to hold still and cover my watch when it’s raining. So that it will not go bananas. There must be a better solution for this than wait a minute or so…

That’s interesting. So it sounds like it could be done, the current software just won’t let you. Well, I hope the product engineers read this forum.
@helgonet12 yeah, and I probably get accidental button presses in time mode every few days (always the buttons on the 1-5 side, you’d think someone would have figured this out, but that’s a different gripe and not Suunto-specific), I’d hate to have the touchscreen turn on every time that happened.

right now there is no better solution. It has been like this for years.

i think a easy way is you can lock manually, like during an activity

@Max-maxilifeguard would be an easy solution - but is not there. And has been asked for, by some people for a long time.
