@la-tzèca said in ..and at the end, I bought it. Summary.:
I write this in order to help some users that are evaluating the Vertical. I come from a Forerunner 935 and I use since one week. I had some
The overall look
speed values are smoothed and usable. My FR 935 “bounces” and is not really useful.
I think I could undestand almost everything about the watch, without the need to read a single page of the manual.
What I do not like
OHR: Good enough for sleep tacking, useless for anything else. But I was aware.
Armband
Fonts: There are plenty of room in the sport screen modes: Make them bigger!!!
Why the limit to 4 screens in sport modes ?
No web (full browser) UI
“Live Track”: no way to automatically let my wife know where I’m lying dead in the forest
If I choose “light mode”, WTH is the bottom value “white on black” ?
a single bluetooth POD “per type”
little bit bulky. Probably mainly because of the armband
Bottom line: From MY2017 FR 935 a step forward. The watch seems more “essential” but at the same time “more consistent” (Less is more).
OHR works for some but not all, Apple for me is the best here. Your FR is a lot lighter watch so that is likely an issue.
Part of the 4 screen limitation is adding 2 S+ screens and 1 screen for altitude profile if route loaded gets up to 7 screens….I think a lot.
App runs natively on iPad and Mac ( with Apple Silicon) so Web UI is not necessary. Similar for Windows I think to run Android app.
Live Track yes not available but you can find options that will work on your phone.
BT Pods noted many times here
Welcome and hope you enjoy it.
