    @aloha as a fellow hobby jogging fanboy I’m just glad Suunto has provided me a watch to run with at all.

    @aloha No way, you can set a “shipment mode” that turn it off, but also reset it. Anyway this has been discussed several times, so I’m closing this topic to avoid duplicates

    @zrumlow Sure. Anyway, I’m locking it since it’s a duplicate https://forum.suunto.com/topic/77/structured-intervals/242

    @łukasz-szmigiel said in Elevation without baro but with track navigation: @catoer-wibowo you can always try using second GNSS, like Beidou which can (but doesn’t have to) improve vertical accuracy. However with GPS based elevation, 30m error is pretty much normal. yes, I did use other GNSS. the basic is GPS and QZSS and currently I add Galileo because reading from some articles Galileo gives better accuracy compared to Glonass or Beidou. But it may work better in Europe ya? I dont know. Maybe I will just try the same track with different GNSS combination to see which one is closest to Strava. anyway thanks a lot for the inputs. I dont have to worry now…

    This feature is so important to me, I have sent my S5 back. Otherwise I really liked the watch. OHM didn’t work for me (but that was expected) and the strap was too short for my wrist, but the S5 is built solidely and GPS worked fine. And of course I dislike the Suunto App. Have to go for Polar now as I see the Garmin world with my woman’s watch and really don’t like it. I hope Suunto will introduce the individual HR zones in the next years and create a web based platform again. Then I will be back to Suunto.

    @johanv hmmm I see. Too bad no resolution is posted (if it has been resolved). Maybe you can contact @Dave-Papadopolis to see if and how he has resolved it? Otherwise contact Suunto support.

    @reesmt78 I ask myself whether constant charging and incomplete charging cycle would affect battery health in the long run. I personally would rather opt for bigger battery then the solar charger option, but I can see this as a feature for through hikers.

    @pikeviewer The Suunto 5 does not have a barometric altimeter and can only measure ascent via GPS. The ascent data increment cannot be changed and will not be as accurate as a barometric altimeter. Third party sites can perform altitude correction on the data from the Suunto 5.

    I’ve wondered if wearing an old-school wristband below the watch would help. [image: 1607714069130-old-school-vintage-sporty-style-wristbands.jpg]

    @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I have done that and interestingly a few random days have been recovered. One day is still odd, but fingers crossed. Thanks

    @Samuli-Sutinen also before you reboot it please, could you press send logs via the SuuntoLink and paste here the ID that it will give you. ? Even better if you can reproduce the issue easily then just after that press send longs.

    @André-Faria It is fairly well known that HR and similar light sensors can struggle with darker skin tones. And sometimes some optical HR readers can work better than others depending on skin tone. @AGarrett82 - I assume that you have correctly positioned your watch i.e. 1.5-2 fingers width from base of palm (so that the readings aren’t impacted by bones of the wrist etc); and that you have set the strap fairly tightly (I can always see the indentations in my skin post workout, once i have loosened my strap).

    Yes, maybe it is the hills. I introduced hills about 1-2 months ago. Its great for improving my fitness but probably games my VO2! Oh well, I think the sentiment that its just a metric is probably right. Had a fab hill run yesterday and fast so who cares about the VO2
