@surfboomerang it’s not so easy as it is dependent on the lights around us. But you’re right, I start here with my comparison pics: 100% backlight and no backlight. Maybe this helps @Dead-Mailbox ? I am very happy with the readability of my S9B’s screen [image: 1623299521821-pxl_20210610_042925858.jpg] [image: 1623299528640-pxl_20210610_042941059.jpg]

@enricotagliavini said in Enhancements to hearth rate with wrist sensor: s a noise cancelling algorithm in either the watch or the sensor. What I would like to be able to do is to “reset” it on demand, so I don’t have to start and stop, or possibly be I have similar when biking. I am pushing and the OHR shows me 50bpm which is ridiculous. Also when running it locks to my cadence and while I am in between 110 to 120 the watch reads 170 (my cadence). What I have noticed is that when you ‘press’ the handles of your bike and stiffen your palm the blood vessels stiffen too so less blood flow is available for the watch to get readable info. Either do not press your palms too much or wear the watch as highly as possible or even facing downwards (this will damage the GPS though).

Definitely not the only one with this problem [image: 1623066024404-screenshot_20210607-125452_resize.jpg] This is a recording of a mountain bike ride. As long as I climb at a steady pace, the HR works well, but when I change pace, do a technical climb or descend the watch struggles a lot.

@chrisc92 most important, if you can reproduce this send the logs from the watch, so the Suunto programmers can see where the bug is and fix it.

@deserthike20 This was it. I had it set to “on”. This was my only quibble with the watch. I think the combo of this set to off and using do not disturb in certain situation will give me all I need to be discreet.

@alex-m rather no then yes. You can look at your elevation graph in SA: if you don’t see the ascends where they are supposed to be, the maybe a certain configuration might help. But to my experience, it’s mostly the high smoothing threshold that causes the lower values.

@ze-stuart I agree with the issues with temperature when you wear the watch. Something also present in previous generations. I ended up adjusting the temperature. I found out that in normal situations, my Ambit 3 Peak offered around 7/9 degrees over real temperature if the watch was not covered by long sleeve. It is not perfect, of course, but a was very close according to my observations.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos ok I see, would be nice however if charging patterns would be analysed as well, since I rarely have non full charging cycles.

FusedTrack is the most amazing feature since having GPS track runs!!! It does not matter if I use Performance, Endurance or Ultra mode. I don’t have to charge my watch ever during a race and it will last for the longest single event I may attempt (70h) or 3day fastpacks! Plus, the watch is easy to use and I like the UI, my zones for HR or Power allow me not to put those fields on the screen. #2 and this is a biggie. Do you forget that in navigation the ambit went as the bird flies??? The S9 has the distance based on the route, another major deal. All the others that we get with SA! Immediate route drawing and transfer from the phone. Offline sync. This is a really old one lol Do you use hiking sport mode + endurance for the fast packing trips? Or do you consider that a trail run. I’m sure it’s been answered before just not sure on the GPS behavior between hiking and running sport modes for the alternative GPS settings. I typically use a Trail Run mode, as I will be doing jogging when on trails with FastPack trips. I am often off trail as well but moving as quickly as possible (can be considered very slow 30 min/mile or worse) but I view these as similar to Ultras so “Trail Run” mode. I do not go on trips with a heavy pack where I cannot jog unless an overnight SkiMo, which is neither a run or hike. I do use Hiking modes but those are for hikes only with friends or family where there is no running involved. Awesome, thank you

@saka79 said in Feature Request: Display time in navigation swipe up screen: @brad_olwin Hi Brad, no I’m using the navigation mode as is. I use this mode while hiking (and not registering tracks, as I need all the battery life I can get during long multi day hikes). Previously I used the ambit 3 for long hiking trips and this watch had the option to push the middle button to switch between the watch display and navigation display. This way you could quickly check the time and move on. You will get longer battery life if you use an extended battery mode. Navigation/GPS is the primary battery hog, there should be no difference using Navigation with or without a sport mode. Your max battery without HR should be ~30h in Performance mode, in Endurance mode ~50h if you are not on the Navigation screen where you will default to Performance mode. What you are doing is unlikely to improve battery life.

@amasidlover I also only count my PBs when they’re run on certified tracks. Plus I do most of my intervals either on the track or on some bicycle paths with 100m makers. But It still like some consistency in my GPS measurements. To see wether I am running my runs at a constant HR/speed ratio for instance, or to check my pace in races (where km-markers may be missing, misplaced, or obscured by clueless spectators).

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Thanks. Suunto 9 van work with different Fitness Levels but I cannot change it anymore. Changing it through the Android App could be a way to solve it. But an option to change is directly in the watch (similar to change my Max Heart Rate or weight) could be a solution to. I can see some of the bodymetics (Max Heart Rate, Age, weight and gender) in the app, but I cannot change them in the app. This is OK while I can change them in my watch. But, as you confirm, FL is not available in the app and has never been available and changeble in my watch.

This sudden rise in HF but also dropping of HF during steady state training is something I see a few times per month. In training sessions I use the chest strap only. In the past it occured more. When changing to a Polar H10 chest strap the problem was gone for some time but it returned but in a lower frequency. Watch, chest strap and sensor were replaced by Suunto but gave no improvement. I never had these problems in my old Suunto T6c. I am now busy to get my Suunto T6c in working order again as I think it is a more reliable training watch. Partly as those very high or very low HF do not occur and also while the EPOC measurement/calculation is way better. In the Suunto T6c it increases and decreases in 1 unit steps. In the Suunto 9 it sometimes jump 5-10 EPOC units. This makes pacing of the training very difficult.

Thanks for sharing. The smart sensor works well. I’ve tried Wahoo, polar, Garmin, Suunto… and finally I like yo use the polar OHR, hH10 and the Suunto (the new one). When I want to use RR of HRV and an app and the watch with the same sensor the polar is my to go. If I go to swim I use the Suunto’s.
