Well let’s name it a Race Mode, and just select the distance .

I agree with you at the moment Ghostrunner is the best solution to calculate your ETA based on the selected Race pace .

It was exactly what I wrote in the above much longer post.

For me, both the altitude and the pressure current but also past data should be corrected.

After that it open 2 questions :

As you said unti when in past … I do not know what is the range kept in the watch … so I cannot answer … it is it only for what it is displayed on the screen, then I will say … ALL …

Still something on which I will think … what will happen in case you do a course, you start with a good calibration at a refuge at 1000m with a perfect weather, you arrive to a summit which should be at 2500m, in between the weather changed and now is bad, the watch is indicating 2800m… if I adjust the altitude … and put 2500 m … how this will imlpact the past ??? …

Humm finally do nothing ?
or adjust only what the watch can display in order to avoid these strange peak effect ?

@skydancer Suunto is aware of this issue. It has been noted and I suspect a fix for this will come. ATM I would believe the watch.

@kowi_01 good question actually, I never check the data on my watch, apart from resources and HR maybe.
I understand your point though and do hope that we’ll get it sometime.
On the other hand, as every feature costs time to implement, I wonder if you’d pick this one over the other possible ones. Like some new metric or suunto plus app or new sport mode.

@r-s-0 yes, but one can diverge from the original route for a multitude of reasons: weather conditions, path is destroyed/forbidden, etc.

@freeheeler Also, as a follow up to what @freeheeler is saying, it is a good practice to set the watch to the exercise (the screen with the START button) before you actually start the activity. The watch will have the time to lock on the GPS, but also adjust the altitude.

Another idea, before you start your activity, look at the watch if it changed the display. The activity display is usually so different from the watch face that you don’t need to look hard at it; just a glance and you know.

@Phillip-Morgan Sorry, I haven’t be using the navigation functionality. I did have Burner activated the last time this happened, I’m pretty sure.

@Phillip-Morgan That is the issue and I am sorry! Nice work on the run! If you continue using the 9baro use ultra mode, which should give you 120h of recording but HR will be off. If you want HR use a belt and you will be fine.
The other option is to purchase a Suunto Vertical Solar where Performance mode will be fine for an event that is ~100h.
