@shamilt1 said in Race 2 accuracy: Suunto either know that it measures distance a little short It measures shorter than the other models. The question is is it more accurate, though?

@herlas Yes, Suunto shows both average powers, with and without zeros and in Wahoo settings, you can set if you want average power with zeros or without. I have set this to without zeros and I got SMALLER average power without zeros from Suunto than on Wahoo. Never got higher values from Suunto. On last ride, the difference was 3,6%. It’s clear, that algorithm will differ Suunto vs. Wahoo, but I think, this difference is high and this is the reason, that I’m not sure, if Suunto really doesn’t count auto pauses to the average power… With connecting to device which doesn’t support dual sided wattmeter, Assiomas should send the instantaneous power at a given time and it should be the sum of both pedals. EDIT: On ride with “longer” snack pause, the difference was 5,1%. EDIT2: So no, the difference is not because of auto pause🫤. Yesterday I also had a soft reset during activity. It was simple walking activity, no navigation, no interaction with the watch, and 3 SuuntoPlus apps active. Suunto Vertical 2 with latest firmware. I had soft resets quite often before. Then I did a hard reset and for about one week everything was OK. Now I had another soft reset during activity. I am quite sad about it.

My HR with the Race 2 and the latest firmware is not working either for me. This is a very new device. It worked 35 minutes but then, there’s a moment that the sensor is stuck in very high bpm readings (completely off). [image: 1776034602048-race2_stuck.png] I didn’t expect this at all. In fact, I remember I had a similar issue with the Race 1, and despite having a diferent sensor.

@Squirrel The update hasn’t improved the problem with wakefulness detection in sleep tracking either… I’m recording about 30-60 minutes more sleep time each day than I actually slept… it’s such a shame, it skews the resource and recovery statistics… why does Suunto always smooth out wakefulness with light sleep? Has anyone heard if they’ve fixed this problem?

@Nigel-Taylor-0 I keep the touch on: map only (so enabled only on the map screen). After that just tap the ‘tooth’.

Perfect. It’s clear that I was the one who got confused, although it wouldn’t be a bad idea if it could be done. Sometimes sleeping with the watch is a bit uncomfortable. Thanks for your reply.

@Manuel-Extreme said in Real-time sync/info in phone? Is the support staff clueless or what?: If you’re surprised by how support responds, you probably haven’t dealt much with pre-sales support before Sounds like you have not, since you believe that they never awanser questions. I very often talk to pre-sales support.t I have been shopping online since the 90s. If I buy RAM, CPU, or something like that, then I don’t contact the pre-sales support. But if there is a functionality that I am after and I feel the compnay is not really clear in their product page and marceting I always contact them. Or if I want to upgrade my network at home, see a router I want, but there is diffrent revisions of it, and they have diffrent chipset. One revision supports Open-WRT, but the otherones dont. Then I ask the place where I should buy it, from the manufacturer’s sales page or a retailer: What revision of the hardware do you have in stock?. Just as an example, I hate buying somehting get it home, and spending time setting it up to find that a function I was after is not there or is implemented in a bad way.

@tomahawk5000 my vertical shows correctly (if anything, a bit high; Strava adjusts it down). I don’t track distance in alpine skiing (I find irrelevant), only vertical (descent).

@OutriggerPaddleJunkie This is done by Garmin, not Suunto, which uses different algorithms for training analysis (TSS, CTL, ATL, TSB). Suunto measures VO2max for things like running, but it’s not particularly relevant for analyzing training and various statistics. It might suggest physical fitness, but it’s only one metric, not necessarily the most important one – especially given that its accuracy is debatable.

@Joseph-Fox why would you think the value should differ? Just because you get the same reading, is not an indication of this function not working. I’d say it is just the same reading.

@maszop My watch was synced with the Suunto app before I set off on my run and I did wait a few minutes before pressing the start button.
