Hi @all! I just want to give a little feedback after a while. I was out on several longer mountaineering trips during the last weeks. The missing breadcrumb issue is solved imho. Thank you very much for fixing this, suunto vertical now was a perfect companion for all my trips and a worthy successor of my ambit peak 3. I can recommend it to everybody who is looking for a watch for mountaineering. Even one of my team mates noticed that the display works super good in bright sunlight. So I am super happy with it. If you use full gps and the map display most of the time ( which I usually do), battery lasts for about 25 hrs. So you can do one longer tour of 12-15 hrs + your way to the mountain hut the day before. If you want to do more trips in a row, it’s better to have the possibility to recharge (I have the non-solar version). But hey, that’s totally OK for me and I am happy that vertical now covers most of my needs. It is a good and powerful tool for mountaineering after the issues, I had with it during the first months of use, are now sorted out. So have fun with it!

Ahhh!! Ok, it seems I was misinterpreting the (to me obscure) meaning of the button[s]. I will try re-customizing. Thanks for your patience with me! -d

@Ecki-D Suunto does not recognize any swim strokes other than free style unfortunately. Don’t think swim activities are a priority for suunto as this has been well feedback for many years now.

Do you all realise that when you don’t wear your watch continuously that the HR monitor will just switch off ? The only way to turn this back on is to switch off and on the watch or to disable power saving and turn it on again ?

@superweeble True VO2 can be only measured in the lab. Watches, calculators and formulas only give rough estimates: so you can see the trend not the real value.

@isazi said in Error in daylight calculation: This has already been reported (it happens close to the arctic circle) and should be fixed in 2024. Until the end of 2024 theres enough time to fix it Hope also for a fix for the battery drain Problem!

@RickB said in VO2 Max no longer working after Creating Customised Sport Mode: Suunto Support told me to go for a hard reset, which I did straight away. Since then no VO2 is calculated at all. Two runs were tagged as “VO2 MAX”…without telling me the value was. Activities tagged as “VO2 max” have a clear Z5 component. It has nothing to do with the VO2max value reported by the watch. And after a hard reset it may take time to get a new value if you don’t do activities with good time in various zones. I reasonably expected a customised run mode would still calculate my VO2. Yes, custom running modes show VO2max.

@filippopesce78 I’ve had the same issue. For some reason two days ago my suunto race won’t sync with the suunto app. I’ve tired resetting the bluetooth, removing and reconnecting via bluetooth. My phone sees my Race and is connected but the app won’t sync. Is this a known issue?

@isazi it is not fixed. Still have the same issue every time I swim. It just changed a little bit, now at the end of the swimming the watch shows the correct distance. In the Suunto app the distance is always 0.

@Jose have found the fix is simple. Switch Bluetooth off on the phone and re enable it when you wake up. I think the app has a bug in that if you do get up in the middle of the night and it syncs, even though the watch will change the sleep time if you go back to sleep - when you wake up properly the app won’t accept the updated sleep time. Since I’ve done that sleep tracking has been excellent. Hopefully an app update is soon

@enriqueescoms said in French wording does not fit on the screen: @Anthony-Guillemette yeah, in spanish is pretty the same in many times. in Italian too… but that’s a problem if any kind of UI, English is a quite concise language

@Greengarden I think the Race is a new enough model for Suunto to release its replacement. The Race S in titanium is a good bet. I could even think of some sort of new Vertical S. But a Race 2.0 would be very surprising to me.

To avoid having to activate heart rate monitoring 24/7, wouldn’t it be interesting to be able to manually trigger a sleep monitoring phase? Example: I go to bed at 11 p.m., I go to the sleep menu and trigger “Start sleep tracking” and the watch knows that it can activate HR to track sleep. The same goes for naps which are sometimes not well detected otherwise. It would also preserve the battery by not tracking heart rate all day if the only use is for sleep tracking.

@Keep-It-Simple there’s nothing surrendered. Cloud storage is just the way this device works, as do many others. Get an older handheld GPS device if you don’t want cloud
