@Tieutieu thanks… the App update helps. Now the sections of the route are colour-coded.

Debating between all black and Race S all black while I enjoy my SV Ti. It’s like I find the Race S a bit better but I know I’ll need a bigger format. Both watches have the same price these days here. Btw, I’m wearing now my old F6X Pro Sapphire Solar, that weights 82g with the 26mm strap (just to feel the weight). I had weared that watch for about 5 years, done many ultras and It still feels perfect. The Race weights 83g and it’s smaller than the F6X. Then I don’t like at all the Race Titanium model (Titanium does look very good in the SV though). Thinking in the everyday use, where you need to like the watch, I find steel the good choice.

Thanks @Brad_Olwin! I agree. Considering the paces when running a long time, all GNSS systems with one band should be more than enough. Let’s say for a 100 miler. I’m now remembering that even with an FR935 (back in 2017), that only had GPS (no GNSS, no multiband and without maps) I was able to get pretty accurate “out of route” notifications while running 100 kilometers. Those notifications were everything I wanted in 2017. The Race S lasts 60 hours in those conditions, or even perhaps more. We want more accurate tracks in 2024 than those we were used to have years ago but it’s really impressive what is being accomplished in a watch of this size.

@cumbrian-runner Remove watch from BT on phone (forget) Turn off completely BT on phone (I even had to restart my iPhone once) Remove phone from watch settings > connectivity > paired devices Try to re-pair. If not successful do the same again by restarting both phone and watch. Last resort: factory defaults on watch.

@isazi I discovered another anomaly When my watch was set to give alert 90 minutes before sunset it displayed “Sunset 22 hours ago” rather then “Sunset in 1h 30m”. I did not catch to take a photo of that message though. [image: 1720989553796-screenshot_20240714-223501.png]

@HoBart very easy solution. Seems to work so far. Not perfect, but much better than before.

@Mike-Walsh said in Problems after Jul 3 2024 Software Upgrade (Race): @Mike-Walsh After doing the walk, there’s a new problem in that you have to get to a screen that allows you to use the Top button then Lower button to get to the End screen. When on the Map screen at the end of the Walk, press the centre button twice. This gives you the Burner screen where Top button and then Lower button gives you the End screen. Jep the problem that you cannot stop the activity from the map is new with the last update and known. It actually bothers me too. But well, it is what it is at the moment, so you will have to stick to that procedure

I got my Race in December. I didn’t have any CTL stats until like March or April and I run almost every day.

I fixed the issue, a few issues actually, and I wanted to share how i did it. I have notifications disabled for all apps by default on my Android 14 Pixel phone. All I did was enable notifications on the Suunto app and now everything is working. So that begs the question, why is Bluetooth functionality mixed up with notifications on Suunto app?

Related to this (I hope): could SA add the altitude profile to GPX files that come without the altitude data? Examples are the German „D-Route“ cycle routes available from https://radroutenplaner-deutschland.de/veraDNetz_EN.asp – the Danube Route D6 does not have altitude data, for example.

@gerasimos many thanks, I searched but didn’t spot that discussion so, it should be safe, since the charger must provide 5V as default, unless the attached device asks for more

@sapphireforever I have 3 (yes 3 ) watches and I wholeheartly suggest you get the Race and you’ll not regret it. First of all I too had ‘mixed’ feeling about the HR (spikes during Rest, too low on bike and too high on runs). After the 2 or 3 updates of the Race and Vertical (this was my HR impressions based on) the only minor issue with the HR is the initial lock to cadence when running. Of coure I never, never really run without HR belt so I couln’t care less about the ohr. So if you use belt during runs there is no reason for you to hold off. I would not state it as better HR sensor since as I can see the sensor is same, it only has 2 extra LEDs. One other observation I had and I believe this is the reason the smaller watch got more LEDs is that when the watch is bigger the band holders dont dig in your wrist and elevate the HR sensor. This is the reason I think for my wrist the Suunto Ocean has the most accurate HR since it goes so smooth over my wrist (this little mm count compared to the Vertical/Race) and the sensor sits very nicely on the skin. Concerning the responsivness of the UI this has been addressed with the latest FW accross all watches Race/Vertical/Ocean. In the end I believe they all have the same cpu/mem components. There is no chance the Race S has better cpu than the Race or Veritcal. Cheers.

Is it normal that the number of intervals always remains at 1? This is indeed the number of round trips in the pool?
