coming back to this as it seems it is actually related to the watch accuracy probably. tried this morning with both Apple watch ultra and the vertical to check . while the HR in vertical seems better (interesting!) the GPS was really flimsy at best my settings are GPS best, waiting 2-3 minutes stretching after! the green arrow is set and then start exercise . The vertical in the beginning is unfortunately way out . the start point is even wrong by 25+ meters (it should be on the other side and quite closed to the stop ) [image: 1734166019588-0f83d178-340b-4c72-95ee-57e004544304-image.png] Apple watch manages to be very close to the real path (is actually perfect) [image: 1734166217462-5bcf0eaf-24a8-45c3-b0f4-33ab397af0cb-image.png]

Hi. VO2max on my SV stay constant from 14.11.2023. it doesn’t matter what sport I do, it doesn’t matter if I use a heart sensor belt or OHR, the result is always the same. The sports I do are trail running, hiking, MTB, mountaineering. VO2max is fixed. SV watch is regularly upgraded. Any idea for solution?

Not poking anyone and really not wanting to offend, but I see a number of these comments that ‘my Suunto is not the same as my…’ I work in the world of metrology, where nothing is ‘correct’ in absolute terms: i.e. everything has a level of permissible error. I have many conversations about this: just because you compare one thing with another, neither is necessarily ‘right.’ It’s a comparison between two devices. Arguably, the Suunto may be more accurate than the Garmin!

@maszop That is quite possible. But that also means that Suunto hasn’t designed their synchronization protocol well. These problems are easily solvable - I can tell you that as someone who long time ago has worked on synchronization of bookmarks in Chrome browser between multiple devices and made that work reliably. Also, to make to make it clear, only the app on my phone ever synchronizes data with watches, and only with one watch at a time. The other two apps are not connected. So this is not a concurrency issue.

For a week now, I’ve been tracking my naps during the day in addition to my nighttime sleep. The Vertical records the times without any problems and reliably. There’s just one problem with it. The sleep times are added up on the Vertical, but not in the Suunto app. The HRV values are added up in the Suunto app, but not on the Vertical. So I have different values in the watch and in the app that can never match. Something needs to be improved here.

@seanvk possible, but these events don’t happen often… crashes are not frequent and neither are map updates.

@altcmd said in PLZ fix the Vertical…: André-Faria I am sure Suunto is trying but saying ‘if they are able to’ is rather defeatist. Hire the right people to push your software. And yes, I do want to believe what some testers are saying about how the new algos are working but the reality is my personal experience here matters and that will happen when there is an update. Let’s see! Which testers said that…

@Brad_Olwin I acquired a belt recently so I will use it on my next runs. Fun fact : my wife (who has a VO2Max estimation with her S9PP in less than a mont) has HR zone not set up and clearly wrong (bottom zone 5 value is 160 ) 95% of each run is in Z5 haha. Thanks again for your returns, I will try some run with my belt AND with better zone settings.

@dreamer_ Yea, it’s not crucial but still useful. Tonight I got 4 hours instead of 8 hours. But to be fair this night was hard since I had to go up in the middle of the night to help my kid, and after 20 min go back to sleep

@zhang965 I wonder if it would be better if you were to stop for a few seconds or change directions. I think that there’s plenty of dead reckoning and other magic filtering going on in Sony’s GPS firmware. It seems to me that the firmware is somehow smoothing the direction error over time, which is apparent when moving constantly in non-ideal conditions (i.e. cycling in the forest). Perhaps in your case, the signal was too weak and since you were constantly doing the same loop and turning in the same direction, the smoothing error was overlaid on each loop.

Hi, I am encountering the same blank screen I have a Vertical Solar Titanium, brand new, 1.5 months old, never had encountered any issue at all. During a snorkelling session, very soft, the watch started to glitch and became more and more unresponsive, first the central button was not working, then the upper, then I tried to reboot it by keeping pressed the button, and it went off completely. Now it is “dead” with no signs of life. Nothing is happening even if connected to the charger, the 12 seconds don’t do a thing. I have been suggested by the support to hold the upper button for 60 secs while charging, with no luck. Do you have any more suggestions, except to send it in Finland to check it? It must be software related, the hardware is almost perfect.
