For a week now, I’ve been tracking my naps during the day in addition to my nighttime sleep. The Vertical records the times without any problems and reliably. There’s just one problem with it. The sleep times are added up on the Vertical, but not in the Suunto app. The HRV values are added up in the Suunto app, but not on the Vertical. So I have different values in the watch and in the app that can never match. Something needs to be improved here.

@seanvk possible, but these events don’t happen often… crashes are not frequent and neither are map updates.

@altcmd said in PLZ fix the Vertical…: André-Faria I am sure Suunto is trying but saying ‘if they are able to’ is rather defeatist. Hire the right people to push your software. And yes, I do want to believe what some testers are saying about how the new algos are working but the reality is my personal experience here matters and that will happen when there is an update. Let’s see! Which testers said that…

@Brad_Olwin I acquired a belt recently so I will use it on my next runs. Fun fact : my wife (who has a VO2Max estimation with her S9PP in less than a mont) has HR zone not set up and clearly wrong (bottom zone 5 value is 160 ) 95% of each run is in Z5 haha. Thanks again for your returns, I will try some run with my belt AND with better zone settings.

@dreamer_ Yea, it’s not crucial but still useful. Tonight I got 4 hours instead of 8 hours. But to be fair this night was hard since I had to go up in the middle of the night to help my kid, and after 20 min go back to sleep

@zhang965 I wonder if it would be better if you were to stop for a few seconds or change directions. I think that there’s plenty of dead reckoning and other magic filtering going on in Sony’s GPS firmware. It seems to me that the firmware is somehow smoothing the direction error over time, which is apparent when moving constantly in non-ideal conditions (i.e. cycling in the forest). Perhaps in your case, the signal was too weak and since you were constantly doing the same loop and turning in the same direction, the smoothing error was overlaid on each loop.

Hi, I am encountering the same blank screen I have a Vertical Solar Titanium, brand new, 1.5 months old, never had encountered any issue at all. During a snorkelling session, very soft, the watch started to glitch and became more and more unresponsive, first the central button was not working, then the upper, then I tried to reboot it by keeping pressed the button, and it went off completely. Now it is “dead” with no signs of life. Nothing is happening even if connected to the charger, the 12 seconds don’t do a thing. I have been suggested by the support to hold the upper button for 60 secs while charging, with no luck. Do you have any more suggestions, except to send it in Finland to check it? It must be software related, the hardware is almost perfect.

@Manuele Same thing happened. But it wasn’t with snorkeling, rather open water swimming. Even though I swam a couple hundred meters, the watch detected the distance as 0. After ending the activity, watch was unresponsive. I restarted it, went to swimming again; same thing. Only this time it wouldn’t turn on after shutting it down. I tried it all, different button combinations, placing it to charge… nothing. I’ve received a replacement watch from a retailer, and I’ll be honest, I’m afraid to turn on swimming again. I’m 100% sure that it’s a software issue, as water damage would be very obvious, in all other areas the watch is perfect. Odd that this is the case with a minority of people, as I’ve read on other threads.

@Brad_Olwin said in GPS Lock and Drift: @stromdiddily said in GPS Lock and Drift: @Brad_Olwin That’s what has me thinking there might be something up with mine. Folks are raving about the accuracy and if this was a common occurrence, someone else would have brought it up (5k, dc, etc) I agree and would wait for the firmware update coming this fall. That will give you a good reboot as well. If this continues I would definitely contact support. I will look back through my files but I cannot remember an issue like this with my Vertical using either production firmware or newer FT firmware. New firmware and after a factory reset for my battery drainage problem. Second run after all that and first at this location so basically the same symptoms as before w offset tracks I sent my logs to Suunto today. Not sure if I have a problem but with my experience I certainly would not describe the GPS accuracy as groundbreaking or phenomenal [image: 1700258294048-f61a5e3f-d159-4190-83a1-14647fd34075-image.png]

I’m having problems with charging my SV since the last update, never had any issues before that. Currently whenever I plug it in it either: Does absolutely nothing at all Shows the battery percentage as if it’s charging, but then nothing happens and it doesn’t charge Beeps like crazy and goes absolutely mental I can usually get it to charge as normal after a few ‘Power Off’ and a handful of soft resets. I’ve never seen this charging issue mentioned here which seems odd, anyhow I’m realy hoping that this will be rectified sooner rather than later. FWIW I usually charge at the start of the month and then again mid month

@neonix If you read here and there, I think that next update will have its core in navigation. I would also like to see, as you, some peak, lake,… names as reference. Regarding automatic reverse route, it has been there since the Spartan Ultra and once you use it you will see that you do not need any option, it works really well. One thing that I see that Garmin has and would be very nice to have is some routing in the watch, I mean, I do not want to plan my route in the watch but some times you are doing one route and for some reason you need to cut it and return to the starting point or some known spot and with Garmin you can plan the shortest route in the watch, with Suunto you need the app for that with cell coverage (with offline maps in the app could be doable in Suunto without cell coverage) BTW, I do not not know if you know it but a nice feature in Suunto is that you can change routes mid activity and send them from the app to the watch mid activity too.

@Frederick-Rochette You can find instructions here in the Forum on how to install previous FW. However, I contacted support and in order to fix the problem I did: Installed previous FW (the one before December). Didn’t solve the issue. Factory reset. First treadmill session after was normal but problem come back on from second run on. Installed the latest FW version, the one released this February (the fix of the bad one from December). Initially didn’t change anything. However, several treadmill sessions later, the watch is now working correctly again (detecting the correct pace in a treadmill session). So, no idea of what’s going on here.
