@mario_b said in Difference between Running Performance Index and est. VO2: Hi! I am new to Suunto. What is the difference between Running Performance Index and est. VO2max. (When looking on the run in Movescount, recorded with Ambit3 Peak). Thanks very much for your help. As my understanding Running Performance Index is the estimated VO2max calculated with Firstbeat algorithms. but what is est. VO2? This is an old thread but, Running performance From ambit3 accounts for your vo2 max fitness AND running efficiency. You can do that easily and much more accurately now with stryd, lookup Running Efficiency formula. Example two runners can have different vo2 max but finish race at same time, difference is running efficiency(mostly). They use specific weight lifting trainings to your core and leg muscles to improve muscular oxygen absorption efficiency (leg) and running form(coremuscles), particularly hem strings for people genetically predisposed for such injuries (for those who have their genome sequenced, there is a specific gene that if you don’t have many copies of it you are prone to it) vo2 max just aerobic fitness (you max input of oxygen) it is estimated from average value of many factors. MC Est vo2 is (Was) estimation of your current oxygen intake. Sort of like IF but 100% is for for 12minutes instead an hour on TP.

There’s an issue between Ambits and the latest iPhone. Search the forum for more.

@neptunejason I had a similar Problem. Here is my solution: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/4533/movescount-app-crashes-after-move-sync The lesson I learned is, that for big moves (>5h) I use the cable to sync the moves.

@isazi thank you very, very much - it looks like that has worked! It’s nothing like as straightforward as Garmin but hopefully I’ve got there in the end. The test will be on the openwater swim tomorrow!

Try adding an altitude to the POI on Movescount web page.

@Saketo-Nemo Thanks for pointing that out. I checked again and the Mailbox was there.

I used to see the trend indicator when I was charging my Ambit3 Run too, however I considered as a software bug because I saw dual time indicator too even if it wasn’t turned on for me.

@tomahawk5000 @Saketo-Nemo Just to add some references from the manual for clarity: The “Find back” feature basically uses your starting point as POI and navigates to it the same way as used for POIs generally. So this might give you some clue: https://www.suunto.com/Support/Product-support/suunto_9/suunto_9/features/points-of-interest/ https://www.suunto.com/Support/Product-support/suunto_9/suunto_9/features/find-back/ Those marks at the top are indeed meant to be used together with the arrow as a sight on a compass or a gunsight on a gun = when the arrow is in the middle of those marks, the watch points exactly towards the starting point (or POI). If you’re ever unsure about the meaning of different icons, this might help a bit: https://www.suunto.com/Support/Product-support/suunto_9/suunto_9/getting-started/icons/

@Luis-Silva you could also export the FIT file from SA and import it in quantified-self to check if there is something wrong with how the file is generated, or is just Strava.

What do you mean by deleted? There’s no delete option in watch itself, did you force firmware update on it? If it’s the later, it’s probably gone. Or did you stop it from paused state, so that it asks if you want to save it and you chose “no” ? Are you syncing with Moveslink2 or Suuntolink? If it’s Moveslink2 and you did hook up a cable, but your Move didn’t reach Movescount for some reason, you might still have sml file of your Move in Moveslink2 data folder and there are few tools out there that can convert it to gpx.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Roadmap for ambits?: Yes that is correct from what I knew back then. That said I can ask for you again and I am doing that now Hey Dimitrios, did you get the answer for this?

@margusl said in In the new Suunto App is it possible to use apps that were created within the Suunto App Zone in Movescount???: @ElTron-ElTron , everyone has different priorities (just look at the post above yours), I have only few apps that are built for logging, all the rest are for real-time guidance. You could just keep using Movescount as long as its data import & analysis are still available. And once the Move upload gets disabled, you still have an option to fall back to Moveslink2 cable sync & SML files and parse those yourself to plot app data. Moveslink2 is happy generate those SMLs for you while working offline, with no Movescount connectivity. Or look into Openambit, there now seems to be Windows support. Of course trashing your watch is an option like any other, from Suunto’s point of view this is almost the best thing you could do - by unplugging the unit from their ecosystem for good (not selling it / passing it on), you release small yet measurable amount of their resources. Just saying that I personally wouldn’t bet on anything Ambit-specific to be added into Suunto App. I’m happy to change my stance on this once there’s some progress with much simpler and more generic issues like data from powermeters. Oh heck, just any visible change towards Ambits might do, last one was over 16 months ago. So it’s either adapting or moving on. BTW, I was dead-serious on SML-files, there’s something oddly satisfying about processing those, especially when going through data that’s normally not sent out to MC & SA services. [image: 1590052390450-68cd3b20-7f27-45e3-adf0-dbd0673ae66c-image.png] Ok, thanks. I did know Openambit yet but I was thinking that they only gave support for Linux user. Perhaps if now there also for Windows I will take a look. I know were slm flies are located. They are at: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Suunto\Moveslink2 The difficult thing is how to put in a readable form all the information contained in these files. Another thing is that the program given by GitHub for Openambit are not compiled and I don’t know how to obtain an executable program.

@Timbo , ummm… in most cases I would avoid “Suunto” and “open” in the same sentence Are you aware of https://www.suunto.com/Content-pages/digital-service-transition/?setcountry=en ? The future of those apps and pretty much anything related to Movescount is not exactly clear at the moment.
