As I am still not able to understand the way S9b works with the laps data in different modes I made a series of tests (trail running) over the same route. Here you have: MODE PERFORMANCE - NAVIGATOR SCREEN OFF § https://www.suunto.com/en-be/move/davidzuelballester/60bb0e0f9859195d40b93320 MODE ENDURANCE - NAVIGATOR SCREEN ON (E-ON) https://www.suunto.com/move/davidzuelballester/60cd9fb2852b3c080621258a MODE ENDURANCE - NAVIGATOR SCREEN OFF (E-OFF) https://www.suunto.com/en-be/move/davidzuelballester/6097121145cefd139a2aaa00 Looking at the maps, neither reading E-ON or E-OFF matches reading P. Whilst E-ON guidance was completely correct, the route recorded is significantly less accurate than reading P. Looking at the total distances: The actual distance is 13.9 kms P recorded distance is 13.87 kms, last split ends at 13.9 Km, so is coherent. E-ON recorded distance is 14.8 kms, last split ends at 13.3 kms (why is that?) E-OFF recorded distance is 14.55 kms, last split ends at 14.4 kms (why is that?) Moreover I don’t get the actual difference between split duration and split min/km. In P these readings are different although though, but in E-ON and E-OFF, these readings are far one to the other.

@miniforklift Agreed, I am using this by either inputting the cut off time on a race I was unlikely to finish (typically only 2-5% finish the one I tried) and GhostRunner will tell me how far I will get. Or input the distance for the race and you will see the time it will take to cover the distance, i.e. finish time. I find this quite useful.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Honestly … what I appreciate since I’m posting here it the open mind in which all of you are … It make me even more loving my watch to know that may be one day something that could have been something that I was wishing to have will be present in an upgrade. I will give all my time to give you or clarify my inputs so you can valuate them and see if they make sense or you can think from them but even better … I’m most probably much more limited that what you could do … but I work like that … I suggest ony what I see should be doable because somehow it is not breaking your logic or you already have done something similar elsewhere

Thanks! I checked some lab testing results (2 years old) and there my max HR was a bit higher (but nevermind, I was just a bit confused). So if this is still in the normal variability range, I am glad, that the strap still works properly

@fenr1r Very very correct. Instructions are only necessary the very first time and them when we master the feature they are totally useless and forbid to have better information like you proposed.; May be just a suggestion here … in case of bearing nevigation setup, undertline The advantage is that you will visually very easily see the difference between when you are in the process to setup the bearing direction versus when you are just looking to the COMPASS [image: 1625484773273-undeline-when-bearing.jpg]

@brad_olwin gotcha. Sorry for my attitude - I simply find it shocking as I regard Suunto as a company who treats UI/UX very seriously and this example is just plain bad for the unsuspecting user. Anyway, here’s my rather simple solution with some assumptions: We’re not modifying ETA algorithms or doing any “deep” work. ETA fields can’t force 1s GPS out of the blue. Here’s the course of action: Enter the workout screen. Check if workout has ETA fields present. Check if workout has a battery mode that sets GPS to other than 1s. If two above are true, wait for 1 - 3 seconds and display what follows: [image: 1625471849192-suunto-mockup.png] The above mockup is relevant to a situation when user has selected (or has used before) an “Endurance” battery mode but the bottom part should display “Ultra” or “Custom” with appropriate colors when appriopriate. Why wait for 1 - 3 seconds? This message should be triggered when conditions are met and should prevent starting the activity. However - users may want to cycle the battery modes with upper button until they reach their preferred one, so a delay is necessary to avoid displaying the same message for Endurance, and then for Ultra and then for Tour and for Custom - you get the idea. The information is there, the choice is to be made We have a simple info that in order to see the ETA the watch needs a different battery mode than selected by the user. The difference it makes You can switch to “Performance” (or modify your custom battery mode to 1s GPS) and get your ETA fields working AND get accurate battery life estimation pre-workout. Or you can use different battery modes without ETA fields enforcing 1s fix but see “–” instead of an actual data.

@surfboomerang yes. And it affects the main screen after finishing the activity. No backlight available until you modify backlight setting (like turning on and off). But it is basically the same behaviour. I remember reading the post, but did not understand it properly, I see it now. In general terms I find the new standby/backlight behaviour and setting confusing, IMHO. J

@pierre-yves-colle I am going to close this as there are beeps for waypoints, POIs and end of route (destination).

@be1t0n If you are on iOS you cannot, a shame as it would be great to be able to edit a route once imported.

@tomas5 said in Some much more interresting screens from main default clock screen when we pressing the middle button: creen on S5 shows alarm, date, battery, nu Hello Thomas Thanks for your reply and info provided. I’m a SUUNTO watch’s user not part of their DEV or PRODUCT team (truly I have 9 BARO which I like a lot), I was not aware that Altitude is not available in other SUUNTO as I was guessing that it could be computed using GPS signal – less precise but still available – Concerning the battery … on purpose I put a progress bar … by the way for me it is simplier than for the DEV-- even so it is easy – as I create the screens in PowerPoint … in fact I like a lot the visual aspect of the progress bars … even if you do not read precislly the value or cannot read it very well … the size of the progress bar and its color give you an insteantaneous indication and feeling
