My Race works the same way. I honestly think the altitude was temperature sensitive, and there is even mention of this in some of the manuals for some Suunto plus apps. I don’t pay much attention to it though use it though as I live in a very flat place, I only care about barometric pressure and that does not vary.

With the AMOLED screen, it just wouldn’t work, but with the other display, it’s no problem because it isn’t such a battery hog. Maybe I’m being too picky, but it just makes me second guess myself.

After going from a Fenix 6x to an Epix pro, the lack of always on does take some getting used to, as does the slight lag get the screen on with wrist movement.

Just bought a Race as the epix screen is too small for my poor eyesight, and my issues are no Parkrun barcode, and no connection to vitality to get pints.

Thanks everyone. I changed the resting heart rate from 60 which was the default on my watch to 70. Hopefully it will fix this problem

Well sadly sometimes it is the only way. When I go for a walk with my kids a choose mountaineering as walking activity screws up the VO2max. 😑

@colinmacdon This has happened to me a few times as well. I was going to send it back but then decided to wait for the update. When that didn’t arrive when the Vertical’s did, that was a bit frustrating, but hopefully it will come soon and fix this issue along with the other small bugs. I have to admit that it’s kind of frustrating that Suunto doesn’t release smaller bug fixes more frequently—there clearly are a lot of bugs with this new software, and fixing a few at a time seems like a better approach to me than waiting months, especially for their new flagship watches.

@far-blue I have used Coros pro two years, did not flip the screen. I liked to use my left thumb. Now one week I used it in flipped mode, nah, do not like it 🙂

@Olaf-Gottschalk well, I just did a quick experiment.

Made a note of the current steps Started a cycling workout and paused it right away Walked around the house (counted approx. 60 steps) Stopped walking. Resumed the cycling workout and ended the workout right away. Checked the step counter

The number of steps were exactly the same before and after the cycling workout. So I would say that steps are NOT counted during a paused cycling workout.

(I also did another 60 step walk around the house without any workout activated just to be sure that these steps got properly counted. And they did.)

@Iggge It may have something to do with the phone, mine is working, it needs to be enabled on the watch under the exercise menu. And depending on what type of phone you have settings there as well.

@Highlands of course that would be much better, but I wanted to make this small improvement possible without asking for the “whole thing” 🤣

Garmin has this function and honestly, it was one of the few things I really had to weigh into the decision to nevertheless buy Suunto…

@savvase I have noticed whilst testing new sports modes (on SR) that even with wrist HR turned off in the settings it still defaults to on if a HR belt isn’t detected quickly enough.

Before starting the activity you can confirm which is in use by the icon at the top of the ‘start’ screen (heart with wings is HR belt or just heart for wrist HR), I haven’t found a way of confirming which is in use during an activity though…

Maybe it lost connection to your Polar belt & started using wrist instead ?

Few weeks ago I have for few days whoop4.0.
I know that the time period was too short to test it but the HRV values were almost in line with my Vertical HRV results.

It certainly works well because I know how I feel and this also reflects the HRV trend. I had a HRV drop a few days before a small viral infection (mainly a runny nose) and wondered what could be the cause. After 3 days I already knew 😉
