Freeze / Hang during Activity

While biking a local route using my Suunto Race, I paused for about 2 minutes to eat an energy bar. As I was about to continue, I noticed the Suunto Race was stuck on the auto-pause screen. The screen was dim and did not brighten when I turned the watch face up. None of the buttons had any effect. The watch was completely locked up, frozen, hung. I continue the ride and the watch remained frozen. After another minute or two of riding, the watch displayed the normal time-keeping screen. The activity mode had crashed & exited. The partial activity completed up to the point of the freeze did sync to the app.
