@Łukasz-Szmigiel Thanks for the hint. In the App settings (in iOS) I changed location to always (not when using the app) and now it seems to work. Easy to understand: it is impossible to update the weather if the location is unknown. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos: it might be maybe useful to remind that in the manual if it is not present. J

@István-Török Based on many previous discussions, I got the impression that “Suunto resting HR” should be the HR when you are resting but still awake. Like when you are reading a book or watching telly. Whenever I set my resting HR lower, my resources decreased like crazy… For reference, my min HR at sleep is ~38, average min HR when sleeping is ~42. My resting HR is set to 53 and everything works reasonably well…

@marcrie Hi, it’s highly unlikely as the S9PP lacks the storage needed for the maps.

Those are not depth sensors, depth and altitude come from the same sensor. Those are service pins, let’s try to not spread fake news here. @krakra if you have a damage of any kind, ask support if they can help. A damaged watch is usually your fault, so you may have to pay for service, but they can probably fix your watch.

hello everyone and thanks for the replies. I’ve searched but haven’t found anything related to vibration problems. mine is the stainless steel version, so i think it’s not just the titanium versions

@Umer-Javed said in Switching to Light Theme in workout changes compass theme outside an activity: I switched an activity to the light-theme and after ending it, the compass/navigation widget (outside the activity) is still in light theme. Blinded myself in bed lol Minor note as I can manually change it back to dark but would have expected it to revert to the original dark theme as other widgets are like that. Thanks Good catch! Have reported it. Cheers!

Suunto Sapphire screens do attract fingerprints etc more than other watch brands sapphire screens do. This has also been mentioned with some reviewers also, not limited to S9PP, here is where DC Rainmaker mentions it. https://youtu.be/lzRnLa4Jf9U?t=533

I did a factory reset, when I gave the 9p to my wife. I would not just change settings.

@zhang965 I will for sure, back when I had the s9b I’ve had a similar issue and my watch was send to suunto where they noticed a hardware issue with hr sensor and gps unit. Thanks for suggestions!

@Brad_Olwin That’s my plan actually, I will make an activity each day and not keep it running all the time. I can easily understand that would be problematic when transferring the file. As you say, measuring HR will decrease the battery life, but on the same time I would say GPS draws even more power. In Tour mode the watch turns everything off and lowers the GPS accuracy to low and data logging for that to 30 min intervals. In Custom mode, you can’t even turn the GPS to that low setting, there is only Best and Good as alternatives and I feel like the Custom setting is a bit redundant as you can’t really affect almost anything in there. An example, my watch has now 50% of battery left, Performance gives me 19h, Endurance 30h, Tour 199h and 31h, so Endurance and Custom settings are almost identical in battery life. Only difference I can make is if I want to shut down the display after 10s or not, that gives the extra 1h. And from that you can also see how huge difference in battery lifetime the GPS setting makes. I am very glad of the presets, they give you already a good base point on what you want to do, but I feel that giving a custom setting as possibility should really have something that would make a difference and really feel like a custom setting. Also, in the settings of the activity, you already have a separate place where you can manually switch wrist HR on/off if you want what ever the setting is, only difference is the Tour mode, that completely takes that option out. Looking at this now more thoroughly, I would say there is two possible, quite easy solutions to make this work better. Keep the wrist HR setting available on all preset battery settings. When switching to Tour mode the setting could turn off that, but if you want, you could manuallu turn it on. Add low GPS mode to the custom setting (I think this should be even easier to add) This would then allow for a more specific “Trail” mode", HR available if you want, GPS settings as high or low as you want, Bluetooth off and a lot more battery life when on the hike.

@isazi Thank you, that’s it. I’ve been using a custom profile for the running activity.

@surfratt I think compared to the Peak Pro the screen of the Vantage V2 is quite similar but screen brightness is not the best in class with Suunto Watches. Where Suunto shines is creating routes and transfer them onto your watch in a breeze. Polar is nowhere near this. You might miss the Webinterface, but I find the Suunto App extremely nice and polished and Suunto has (and still does) put a lot of effort in it, like the new Coach feature. And - compared to Polar - your training screens can have way more data fields and information.

I wish there would be a hacker community around smartwatches. If it’s a JTAG port, there might be fun things to do with this port.
