One more weird behavior here, trying to understand what happened. Backcountry skiing. Everything fine up to a certain moment where my watch decided to climb hundreds and hundreds of meters. Pics attached, I also have a JSON file downloaded from the excellent QS, if somebody wants to help me. Hint. I was using my old AP3, attached to my backpack. It seems that both cases ocurred when going down on an excellent snow, having tons and tons of fun. I skied down previously, at a similar speed with the watch also in my backpack. Not so much fun, however. As i felt like in heaven, could it be that it was not only my feelings, but the reality??? You can turn this off in the workout settings. Even if you have that turned on and it asks you for the feeling, you dont have to choose any feeling. Just click the middle button without scrolling down to a feeling you dont have to wait for it to disappear.

@kompot I find with the arm tension on the bike my HR is not accurate either - when biking I use a chest strap.

@Shayamoya you’ve set a custom profile and it now sticks as default. You have to go to battery mode, set it to custom and while in custom settings, set it identical to how performance is set and save as custom and use it. Only then will it reset to performance as default for the next workout.

@valeriemc Did you try a soft reset (press upper button 12sec) ? Than resync and wait 10 min for the AGPS file to be reloaded/unzipped

@MKPotts I didn’t use Runanalyze before, thank you for showing me another distraction from my work The problem is definitely caused by static electricity otherwise the belt works very well after almost 4 years! On another run when the HR was bad for the first 30 minutes or so, ZoneSense shows absolutely nothing for that part, which is a fairly correct behaviour I think. And you’re right, Runanalyze shows a very large scatter: [image: 1738755482327-4d1327b1-5aeb-4ac2-91ba-da02419335ca-image.png]

@MKPotts I’m afraid you’re right. I had it on my S9 Peak and now on the Vertical so I assumed it would also be available on the S9 Peak Pro. The manual indeed doesn’t mention it.

@Mff73 I tried today at the gym with walking mode and it showed normal heart rate. Also cross-training mode worked normally. Gym mode worket well first few minutes and when my heart started beating faster, watch began to show as it was getting slower. When I waited for a moment without doing anything, heart rate started slowly rise. I use the same t-shirt I`ve been usin for three months.

Being able to match a Profile to your Activity for the Barometer & Altimeter measurement would be great. I was available on the SA3Peak. (Below from the Manual) 3.3.2. Matching profile to activity The Altimeter profile should be selected when your outdoor activity involves changes in altitude (e.g. hiking in hilly terrain). The Barometer profile should be selected when your outdoor activity does not involve changes in altitude (e.g. soccer, sailing, canoeing). To get correct readings, you need to match the profile to your activity. You can either let Suunto Ambit3 Peak decide a suitable profile for the activity, or choose a profile yourself. With the 9PP, I am constantly adjusting my altitude and immediately after manually setting it, it adjusts itself, and I havent moved If your sailing, knowing accurate atms. pressure readings is vital, similarly, when trail running, knowing accurate elevation is an important safety factor. Please bring back the Activity Profile

@IceRim The S9P has received many firmware updates as it is older. No one here will know how much longer the S9P will receive updates. Since its release in 2022 the S9P has received 12 firmware updates (not counting the last rollback) so I think that your statement is correct about improving the S9P but how long that will continue we do not know.
  • PTE bug ?

@ventresca said in PTE bug ?: I’ve noticed a bug in the PTE calculation on my Suunto 9 peak pro (maybe since the last update?). Sometimes, when I don’t have my heart rate belt on, I turn it off (so the heart rate is not recorded in my activity). The problem is that a 10 km jog well below my maximum pace is always scored with a very high PTE score, often PTE = 5. I’d like to point out that I haven’t modified my parameters (heart rate ranges, maximum frequency, etc.). I’ve logged around 200-300 runs since I got my watch. So with the GPS and the calculation of my speed (which corresponds to my jogging pace) over less than an hour, there’s no reason to have such a high score. I take it this is a bug? Thanks in advance, It seems like a bug indeed. The high PTE score without heart rate data is unusual, especially with consistent speed and pace. Hope it gets fixed soon!

@D-Wolfe I would discharge the battery completely, but that seems to take some time in your case. If that won’t help I would do a hard reset.

@dhameljolette said in Heart rate monitor in the cold: This happens for a entire 3 or 4 hours when doing single lap of 1000 to 1500m of vertical gain. Are you maybe using poles? Sometimes I experienced a sort of cadence locking, therefore wrong HR readings, while training with poles on steep climbs (the watch was properly tightened up above the wrist bone).
