I have trail running and backcountry skiing wearing both at the same time……quite a few. Size matters! If the Peak is too small don’t purchase. I prefer the baro for skiing and much ,much prefer the Peak for running. I cannot wear the baro sleeping. Too big. The Peak has a slightly better altitude algorithm and with small rolling hills will do better. For me, I have big hills so it doesn’t matter. The adaptive backlight on the Peak is great, I like it for running and all day use. For me the Peak hands down but I like the smaller watch and never have more than 4 data fields on one screen.

@xelo77 strange… I never seen that in my S9P Yesterday again more steps in Garmin (left hand) 21155 than Suunto 18844 And now I’m still in the bed and both watches had count some steps 11 Garmin and 7 Suunto. Have you tried to wear in the other hand?

@krakra I understand that @deserthike20 accepted this flaw. I trust that functionality is ensured and it is just an optical issue. Similar to the Pixel 5 glass and fram gap issue when it was first released. I am nitpicky in such cases and would want it to be perfectly assembled. it seems nobody here has ever asked Suunto support for a statement. Try to reach out to them, they are very kind and helpful

This is support advice. Especially good in winter “hmmm może proszę spróbować najpierw pochodzić w wodzie, zanurzyć zegarek, i dopiero wtedy włączyć tryb “pływanie” - może musi “załapać” tak samo jak z GPS na zewnątrz” “hmmm, maybe please try to go in the water first, immerse the watch, and then turn on the “swimming” mode - maybe it has to “catch” the same as with GPS outside” [image: 1649929749602-signal-2022-04-14-114734.png]

@wyvern Hi, yes, this is known and acknowledged a bug by Suunto already. Don’t know about the priority and when it will be fixed though.

@piotr-grygiel The OP did not post about temperatures but about the watch stopping mid-exercise, which is a much more serious bug. The bug the OP posted has been fixed as I stated.

yep, as you’re flexing muscles repeatedly e.g. weight lifting is one of the most challenging sport to monitor with WHR

Yes, I think, the firmware was updated since the custom more was created. Users fields were: speed, lap duration, distance, altitude, HR, altitude gain, vertical speed. I think, that’s all - on two screens. Latest app version on Android. Today, I had the chance to try multi sport with the custom mode without ampersand in the name, and it worked. Doesn’t necessarily mean the ampersand is related, of course.

@simon said in Pace field does not show when climb slower than 30min/km: NGP (Normalized graded pace) would be a nice addition as a data field during an activity :-)) If this is even possible … You can get this if you use TrainingPeaks Run SuuntoPlus

@jannick Poor GPS signal strength due to bad weather/clouds/buildings/mountains can have that effect. I once had an extreme error/deviation in gained altitude, although normally the S9P is exceptionally exact … If it happened just once, I wouldn’t worry. And a deviation of 5% isn’t really bad …

It’s so weird that the calibration works for me during the activity. I have to be on the navigation screen for it to work. Maybe that clue was missing… Anyways, I can still hardly believe this sloppy engineering work: a watch that is not able to really store/save the calibration with a magnetic charging connector

@brad_olwin @MarcW slightly moist contact pads have been sufficient so far… I will for sure not put on a completely wet strap when preparing for a day resort skiing

Thanks, I do not have the requirements to use the trainer with a watch I care more about recording the effort on one platform so that I can control the training load in a longer period. probably the best solution will be to connect a heart rate monitor with the watch and the trainer but not always the trainer supports 2 bluetooth devices (basically only a wahoo can do this!). Power and cadence information from the trainer on the watch would be appreciated of course.

@zhang965 said in S9P review from a non-target audience: @andrasveres said in S9P review from a non-target audience: @egika temperature, pressure, fluids etc can affect sensitive equipment, such as our watches, and may degrade it by constant exposure. I think @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos to that type of changes was referring. yep, I noted there were some GPS speed drops during my exercise. and this bug has been fixed after that I lost 3 pounds I’ll give you test firmware that will transfer 3-5 lb from me to you!
