@suuntosun there is no desktop app. You can sync your workouts with other services that can be accessed via browser. Check Strava, Runalyze and quantified-self.io to name the few that Suunto App can export to.

@tomiw I confirm that the vibration on Suunto 5 is extremely weak, almost useless, compared to the Spartan Trainer. What a pity!

@davide-cantoni Are you on the most recent firmware? There was a release today, see if that helps. How long is the Custom timer set for?

Unfortunately I am using Google fit to sync weight from Withings to Strava (I don’t believe SA can import weight). Maybe you can skip Fit using IFTTT.

Yes, you can edit your distance in SA, but i don’t think this edit will transfer over to strava. If you have a Concept2 Machine then you could use their logbook to connect to strava that way it transfers the correct distance and a few other data points time/500m etc. If you do other sports which transfer to strava via SA and you decide to use the concept2 logbook to transfer your erg session, you will have to simply delete the transferred SA workout in strava which will be a duplicate of the concept2 session. Hope that make sense Edit: I should add I have the S9 but I would imagine the same data is editable in SA for the S5 Watches

@pikeviewer The Suunto 5 does not have a barometric altimeter and can only measure ascent via GPS. The ascent data increment cannot be changed and will not be as accurate as a barometric altimeter. Third party sites can perform altitude correction on the data from the Suunto 5.

@aloha No way, you can set a “shipment mode” that turn it off, but also reset it. Anyway this has been discussed several times, so I’m closing this topic to avoid duplicates

@telcontar Try re-installing the latest firmware. If that doesn’t help i’m afraid you have to contact Suunto support.

@denis-parade there is no stair climbing mode, so whatever you want actually. I prefer to record all my indoor fitness activities as circuit training. But there are also aerobic and stretching sport modes.

@activejiggy I don’t think that changing the step counting will affect the battery very much. Something to realize with the Suunto 5 (I assume this is the non-Peak version?) is the altitude is determined using GPS. If you use any GPS other than Performance mode the altitude/ascent/descent will not show in the watch as 1 min GPS fixes do not allow for determining altitude changes. The 2, 5 and 10 sec fixes will not improve battery by much, that is why they were not implemented. In the Ambit series these were to provide a reasonable GPS track with some battery savings. In watches that have a compass, Suunto has developed FusedTrack so your GPS tracks are very good even with a 2 min GPS fix. For the Suunto 5, this watch does not have a compass so FusedTrack is not possible.
