Heartrate skyrockets
-
Hello,
I just finished a relaxing walk with my s5 and realised that after about 30 minutes the Heartrate sensor went completely crazy… it went up to arround 150 bmp and stayed there… (see picture)

I also tracked this with an Apple Watch 5 simultaneously and the AWs sensor didn‘t show any Heartrate raise at all (which wasn’t there, since I walked downwards).

I cleaned the S5 and the sensor before I started and ,as one can see from the images, in the First 30 minutes the two of them were pretty close to each other…
What could cause the S5 to show such „ghost“spikes ? For the HR seems to influence a lot of data (VO2 max, EPIC, Recovery etc…) this is really a bummer… I don‘t want to wear a heart strap all the time and if there is a OHR Sensor on the wrist it should work at least within some „normal“ limits.
Cheers

It could be due to some light interference, maybe you should tighten it up a bit.
Anyway check this

@sartoric did what you say and tightend and cleaned the band and went running for 5 km which delivered the complete same (!) average hr both on the S5 and the AW 5

Then after a pause went walking with the dog and voila same problem: after a while the hr raises magically on the S5 to over 150 bpm, while it never surpasses 119 bpm on the AW5

Will give it another try tomorrow… but it’s weird
