Yes it is Assisted GPS and probably here is your problem. and if its is N/A means that is not available so you will have problems having the GPS fix at the beginning of the activities and also with the track. I understand that before you start running you wait until you have the GPS fix, the arrow stops blinking, changes color and the watch vibrates (at least in the S9 and SSU), if you do not do that and start running you won’t get gps signal so no track until the watch is able to get the signal. The distance is correct because watch’s accelerometer + Suunto algorithms do the job. Regarding the AGPS N/A you should try to sync some more times, if not you can also use the cable to update the AGPS. If you are in SA, in the watch view you can see if the app says that optimizes GPS. If this still doesn’t help then maybe @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos can look deeper into it.

    @Egika no pause, it stopped whilst I was on my bike but continued recording the HR data and the route as all the route appeared on Strava. I have the latest version of the app 1.13.0 (7675) which is the latest version on the Appstore

    @tuxella Thats true, when importing an existing GPX route from your phone and sent to the watch, no map is needed. You might be right with the connection to the server to store it also in the user account. But for planning all map data needs an online connection to the servers who provide the data. A possibility would be to just download the area you are in, but still storage on the phone would be necessary. We have some topics for this issue or rather suggestion here in the forum for quite some time now, lets just hope this voice also be heard.

    No tricky solution on IOS from me, if uninstall reinstall doesn’t do the job. Eventually try on an Android phone if you can, and see. If it is the same “unsync” message, on android you could see if raw files are on the phone and at least get it from there. Good luck.
