@synner88 Try this DND auto setting with your own hours and disable back-light. It is almost what you need.

This has been already discussed some time ago. There are pros and cons in both choices (stop navigation or not)

Yeah. Automatic upload is a pain. I run on a threadmill and distance from the watch is not precise. In strava I cant change it by hand so i have to remove training and add it again…

The Firstbeat features like VO2Max aren’t licensed for the Spartans. A lot of the latest firmware update that the Spartans didn’t get was to bring those features to the S9 that the S3 and S5 already had, so that the flagship model of the same generation of hardware wasn’t missing anything the two cheaper models have.

@revo2019 I don’t think that this pressure will help It would be nice to have apps, yes. I used some apps on my A3PS but since I use my S9B I can also live without these apps as most of the functionality I really needed is now there. One app eg was just to convert from meters per minute ascent rate to meters per hour. And one was for an ascent rate for the past 5 minutes… now I have by default meters per hour and I can look for ascent rate average since the last automatic or manual lap… I’ve had a Fenix3 and they have apps… but for me as a non-IT guy it was way too difficult to programm them…

@Mff73 said in Routplanning and Cross-country skiing: @KnutB Are these skitouring paths routable with other apps? Or are they just drawn on the map? Not all path are known by route engines. Just question here Those are routable. It’s a regular way-element but with a piste:type=nordic tag. Or a collection with relevant tags. XC ski routing can be seen at https://www.xctrails.org/map/map.html?type=xc . Another one without routing but maybe with a better overview is http://www.opensnowmap.org/ , there you can also see how unevenly proper tags for ski tracks and routes are actually used, even in Nordic countries. Not sure what routing service SA is using. Considering its current routing options in SA, it’s not a (standard) Mapbox Drive API, but technically it should be doable. Though they probably want to keep it as simple as possible. Another thing is routing quality, it really depends on tagging quality and consistency. I’m afraid for most people who would try xc ski routing it would not work out. Though on the other hand, if there would more services providing this feature, there would be more interest in OSM community to maintain and improve those tags.

@TELE-HO fair enough, I believe that with small changes SA could cover 70% of my analysis need (vs 20% today), leaving the remaining 30% to QS or Runalyze. And I like having as much as I can in SA, because I anyway use frequently the app to sync with it. But I do have to admit I’m more a running / trail enthusiast than anything else, so my analysis needs are most likely simpler than others.

@cosmecosta yes that would be nice… comparing several “same routes” or let’s also take “similar routes” in, as I sometimes only take small variations. OR comparing of selected routes, but that is very difficult and some values can’t be compared of course. But to be honest, since I use QS more frequently I don’t miss the lack of comparison in SA so much. Of course improvement in SA is always welcome… or the direct connection to QS

@silentvoyager my personal view is that merged heatmaps show basically where people move often. Maybe I see it different as I most likely live in a different style of area? Running, Trailrunning and MTB already look very similar. You can check my area, east of the city Zug. If heatmaps merge you’ll loose the reason for the heatmap: to see where it’s worth to go for a specific sport. Plus I don’t see any harm in keeping it separate… you can check running AND trailrunning. Maybe I see it wrong but the heatmap for me is to fly high and checkout an entire area, but the closer details at second sight

@silentvoyager Appreciate your thoughts. I think that must be it, the bluetooth connection dropping in and out depending on the proximity of my phone and watch. Somehow this seems to be resetting my chosen sync/data restriction choices…

@sartoric I would welcome this feature too - in fact I submitted a new request before finding your post here. This background data sync process is not clear or easily understandable. Control is not in the hands of the users. IMO this is not good enough. Having tried and failed to restrict the app multiple times, as you say updates seem to reverse the process, or user choice is just being bypassed somehow. From the responses above it looks like this is a bug that needs fixing. Suunto* this is user data and privacy controls we’re taking about, please take this issue seriously. Cheers – Joe S.
