My vote is yes. Web platform like MC is essential for a proper analysis or complex route planning. I use Strava most of the time for a quick overview and social interaction but it irritates me that it modifies the data.
Occasionally I need to do a proper analysis of past races, and I always use MC for that. With its ability to overlay multiple metrics on a graph, switch graph to time scale, and use the zoom tool, nothing comes close. For example it allows to see all stops clearly, and come up with a better strategy when running the same race course again.
A lot was said about route planning and using other services for that and importing GPX files into SA, but that doesn’t have the same functionality as MC route planner. I can’t see other user’s routes in one place. I can’t add waypoints to routes - that has been so useful on many occasions in the past, although Suunto has already crippled waypoints in Spartan and S9. The same applies to POIs.
