Hi Herlas, I checked this message, but the problem described concerned an older version of the Suunto firmware. I usually use the guides, but even without them, the display is the same… it only counts the length once it’s finished, and that can cause problems (as described previously). Sometimes I miss Garmin, which was much more advanced in the swimming section.

Diesen Vorschlag unterstütze ich zu 100%. Nach 15 Jahren Garmin bin ich nun zu Suunto gewechselt. Diese Funktion fehlt mir hier tatsächlich am meisten. Man könnte es evtl. auch über automatisch zuordenbare Tags machen. Aber die Lösung von Garmin ist hier schon sehr schön. Man hat immer einen Überblick, wieviele km man mit dem jeweiligen Schuh schon gelaufen ist.

@Kamal Of course and it has been suggested numerous times, I’m sure. Stair climbing should be a separate sport profile in the watch because currently I have to use Aerobics profile to avoid getting nonsense distance and other indoor running metrics. Then sync it to the app and change the activity to vertical running, so I can add actual elevation gain and number of steps. Probably same can be done using other profiles, but none of that is ideal. Stair climber profile should record/show number of steps, step cadence (should be easy even if the hand is resting on the handle as there is still plenty of subtle wrist movement for accelerometer to read), and elevation gain! (from steps where you can set custom step height under exercise options, usually 20 cm). Setting the step length could be optional to calculate distance as well.

@Ars-Vitae there are several teardowns of the Garmins to be found. Even the Fenix 8 Pro has the same SoC as the Fenix 8, Fenix 7 Pro and the Fenix 7 before. Fenix 6 Pro had an older one… Epix Pro is only the AMOLED variant of the Fenix 7 Pro.

I guess you mean disable touch und just use buttons? At least with watches having crowns it would be possible. With Garmin there is an option I used all the time “Enable Touchscreen only in maps”. And with the Race S I hardly use the touchscreen apart from maps…

Fully agree, when the track of the activity is a bit complex, the actual speed is way too high

I would also Like this feature. At the Moment the possibility to mark laps/rounds doesn‘t make sense.
