@rdcritchlow I had a similar situation with 9baro, the battery was completely discharged in 10 hours. The discharge did not depend on activities, heart rate measurements or anything else. During diagnostics, a local unofficial service revealed a faulty charge or battery controller (I don’t remember exactly what it was) (the warranty on the watch had expired at that time). After replacing this element, the discharge returned to normal.

@tommorunner As @herlas stated, very easy to set up intervals when you start the run.

Yes I wanted to know what happens with the walking excercise because the end of it after entering the staircase seems to disappear. The ascent/descent function wit the Suunto 5 is always so inaccurate that it is not really useful anyways.

@qwerty01 said in SuuntoLink Win7: Hi Does anyone have a SuuntoLink installer that runs on Windows 7? The latest one supports 8.1 and it won’t run because of that The latest one that runs on Windows 7 doesn’t allow for Ambit apps. I recall seeing that because I had a computer that runs W7. Unfortunately I don’t have that pc with me to tell you the version…maybe 2.28.1

@BrunoH This is satire and a joke about how people rely too much on the tech they wear and social media for their efforts to matter. Here is a piece that makes some sense but maybe I shouldn’t post as a Fieldtester for Suunto:) https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/16/sports/gps-watches-professional-runners.html?searchResultPosition=1

@Hekemon The 5 Peak uses GPS for altitude and will not be as accurate as a watch with a barometric sensor. Can you show or link to some of the examples that are a problem?

@BrunoH This is great information and good to know. However there’s still problems with the watch that’s preventing me from putting more money into Suunto at this time. I want a to, but now is not that time. Thanks

@Francesco-Pagano support can be reached in the app, BTW, and that should be the official way to contact them. I have never had this issue so I do not know what causes it, but it seems to me that it affects mostly people using an external HR monitor.

@fitb2020 this function doesn’t have its own chapter in the manual but is there https://www.suunto.com/en-nz/Support/Product-support/suunto_5/suunto_5/features/recording-an-exercise/ the only downside: the activity appears as multisport and you can’t separate the single activities later. for the gym I used to use crossfit as my activity for everything that’s indoor… rowing as warmup, trx, benchpress etc [image: 1683776497679-screenshot_20230511-053654.png]

This has now happened for the 3rd time in 2 weeks, after soft-reset, and on top of that, the last time the watch showed the empty battery display, after a 60-minute run started with 35% battery. Considering that it’s happening with a watch that was sent as a replacement due to this latter described issue, I’m back to highly disappointed

@twekkel i didn’t analyse files because i was on mobile only. I just know that distance measured on same route can differ if GPS conditions are not perfect. In case there are different numbers of trackpoints, it must be by different battery mode. It is simple by mistake to change battery mode, so it can be that reason.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos just a friendly reminder that the issue still persists and is also a thing in S9PP.

@PAWEL-Figurski said in Bugs in Suunto 5 nordic walking & calorie consumption: I think it is a bug in a watch firmware. So try to contact support, maybe they can give you more information or file a bug. Out of curiosity are you nordic walking correctly ? Opposite leg/arm, poles pointing back etc. ?
