I have been in correspondence with Suunto regarding my drastically reduced battery life on my Race over the last few months. I had been told that there was going to be an update to look at this issue this week but no mention of it here in the release notes.
My watch is pretty unusable and needs charging every other day, with Suunto aware that this has been caused by software implications. Really frustrating, will download this update and see if it helps!

just stumbled upon this bug yesterday. nice timing

thanks! -
A much-needed hotfix, well done Suunto. So far, itās installed without problems (except, as usual lately, for losing some custom sport modes).
Iāve tried using structured workouts (SuuntoPlus guide) in several custom sport modes (swimming, running, and trail running) and it works.

The only downside is that my watch (Race S) is still experiencing a regression in heart rate monitoring (HR) behavior on the pre-start screen (the heart takes about 15 seconds to turn green since 2.50.26).

I can confirm that the costum sport mode bug is solved. Thanks for the fast fix!
-
Also tested ! Well done.

@Geoffwilli I am not away of anything like this. nor any of your posts here indicate something like 2 days battery life. What am I missing ?

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos just installed the upgrade BUT if I select the Yoga sport mode I still canāt use the SuuntoPlus Guide Yogaā¦same problem if I select āunspecified sportā and try to load a SuuntoPlus Guide. It happens because SuuntoPlus Guide has been created for only āStrenghtā activity, how can I apply it to an other activity?
-
Successfully installed. All settings have been preserved.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Can we talk about the backlight bug now?

Any news on bzzzt bzzzzt a.k.a phantom vibrations in 9PP?
-
@duffman19 I couldnāt reproduce the raise to wake bug on my SV1 after the updateā¦
-
@Åukasz-Szmigiel I experienced a phantom vibration when the HR belt was reconnected to my V1. At first, this helps to unpair, perform a soft reset and repair it. This stopped the battery drain.
I discovered that there was a problem with BT connectivity or connection when I was hiking with my son in a chest carrier and my watch kept vibrating because it was covering the sensor. This happened three hikes and with my son, so I am convinced that this is the cause. -
Thank you for the quick fix!
-
@nseslija Itās still present on both my SV1 and 9PP.
-
Uuh ā immediately after the update tonight, the WHR sensor is off again and the watch is locked. Hopefully, while merging this bugfix feature branch, no other stuff has been re-merged
Thought this bug has been fixed with the Q4 Update.
Watch is a 9pp -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
This introduces a new bugā¦If I have a scheduled Guide that I want to use on a different run later, using my customised sports profile I select X as usual, but now scrolling down I see the Guide is showing active and the X has been ignored. -
Pace reading nightmare is still present since 2.50.26 on my Race S.
Before this update it was a nice smooth curve relatively mirroring my speed curve. Now itās a complete erratic mess, therefore impacting my VO2max score. Iāve lost almost 1 whole point from just 3 runsā¦
HR is also consistently higher during exercise than before the update.
Any fix coming soon?

@Nigel-Taylor-0 The same thing happened to me with Suunto Run; when there is a guided training mode, the free training mode disappears.

@Bastienhere check your pace zones. It can be that cause of the update your Personal pace zones are deleted. Check it
