@giuliosq wrist heart rate is highly personal. Your experience will be different from others and depends on many factors. The use in the cold and walking with poles add to the complexity of the task the watch has. Good that the AW handles this well for you. And bad that the Vertical does not… In general I think you are correct in saying that the OHR sensor of the Vertical in inferior to the AW. That’s why it was changed with Vertical 2.

Under 2.50.26, I notice that my overnight, off-wrist battery consumption approximately doubles (vs 2.46…) My only change for the new FW was to enable North-up mapping. 2.50… did add the wifi weather updates (which do not work for me … could there be repetitive attempts by the watch to connect to wifi and the App that drain power?)

@aiv4r Where I live I have to often ski uphill a little bit even with the lifts, because the plateau is often not perfectly flat. That wouldn’t make my workout neither XC, nor backcountry though. Granted, the watch could probably allow to make a custom sport mode where the elevation is always set to 0 automatically. It’s the same as skiing on the lake. It’s absolutely flat, yet the watch calculates elevation gain due to the fact that it’s hard to detect the actual elevation both with GPS and barometer.

I had problems before with intermittent disconnects with the Suunto smart sensor and Polar Varity sense, but it wasn’t to bad or long. On saturday I had my first total failure. Started the activity, on the startup screen it picked up the Polar Varity sense and connected to it. When the activity started the watch lost connection to it, and didn’t connect to it for the whole duration of activity (8 h). The sensor was on and broadcasting over bluetooth. This is a really bad bug. The OHR is not good enough for accurate tracking, and now the external sensors wont’ work.

said in Serious problems with navigation with GPX routes: @maszop Several months have passed, and of course, nothing has changed. The problems remain. It’s still impossible to change the route during ascent or descent. And there are still serious problems with breadcrumb display. [image: Photo-2025-08-11-11-17-01-AM.png] The problem persists. Another software update, and such a serious bug has been ignored.

@sky-runner Just use a run where you had an LT interval (Tempo) or more than one. That will provide a reasonable estimate of Threshold power. You can then use an online tool to calculate. I use TrainingPeaks. I tend to use Power as my intensity zone for Running Interval workouts (these are above LT) that are no longer than 3 min where HR is useless. I am fairly good with RPE but having a power zone set can keep me from going to hard on the first interval and slowing down on the last. NGP will do the same but we cannot set NGP as an intensity zone.

Btw. This not a new issue. This is the algorithm used by Suunto for at least 5-6 years.

@vinc14 I didn’t say you started measure manually. Just guessing : the widget may indicate the last unique measure (even automatic done during night) and the night summary is still the best guess of all night measures.

@MarkusG Strava Live Segments guide is no longer available for custom sport profiles too. According to @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos , the same workaround - adding intervals data screen - should help with Strava Live Segments too, but that is a very silly workaround since Strava Live Segments feature has nothing to do with workouts, and that uses one of the 3 available data screens.
