@boazzimmerman I had same issue with the HR when I was lifting weight, bought the belt and been using it for about a year now, and it pretty much solved 95% of the HR issues. 5% of the time the sensor might get ripped off when I was doing bench press and muscle up.

thanks for the answers, it’s not related to the temperature when I start, most of these issues have happened during the evening which is warmer, morning runs have been fine mostly. I see I’m not alone with this behavior, so might not be a hardware issue.

@jmoneygrip so after having an issue with wrist hr reading locking to a high bpm when slowly walking, I read and took on board a few suggestions by forum users and it has made the difference. 1: I did a 12second reset (just in case after the firmware update) 2: probably the suggestion that’s made the difference: I really tightened up the watch whilst doing a gentle walk and had good, expected and consistent wrist hr readings. I have a feeling the slighter cooler weather did reduce my readable hr flow through the wrist or shrank the wrist slight so that the watch wasn’t making that solid connection, fingers crossed. I use a chest strap for anything other than a gentle walk so its a minor thing anyway but its always nice to know you have the accuracy on the wrist when you need it. Thanks fellow forum users and mods for the thoughts and suggestions around wrist hr accuracy.

@jmoneygrip Thanks for the suggestion. I did talk with tech support and I was told the issue was reported. Times will tell, I guess.

@foxster In cooler weather the blood flow at the surface can be less than in the summer, this will affect optical HR readings. Mine are always worse in the winter and a it gets colder.

@tonyg I had (and sill have sometimes) that behavior in my S9P, before and after the update. It is usually solved if I wait some time in the activity screen before starting. Last weekend I had that problem during an easy walk in the mountain, but was clearly caused by the watch positioned in other place. It slowly went back to a more normal HR. Just sharing my experience with the S9P

@isazi said in Lap ave bug during interval setting: @derrick-spafford use interval average pace. Thank you. That makes sense now. Will make the change.

@wotus After several unsuccsessful tries I found a workaround forcing the watch to measure and record the temperature in openwater swimming (basic and custom exercise), with which all other exercises have no problem. The only way I found is to activate S+ Weather - Insights before the start. But even then, the realtime temperatur data field shows no value “–”. Only if I switch the display to the Weather screen and then back to my first view, the real temperatur value will be shown and appears then in the logbook and in SA. Can someone confirm this strange behaviour of missing temperatur in openwater swimming which didn’t happen before the last firmware update?

@isazi I contacted Suunto support but I only received the meaningless answer that this might be an error and it has never happened before for anyone else So the usual unhelpful stuff you get from service…

@jmoneygrip I agree. I also found that the OHR is fairly accurate during activity. It is reasonably close ( at least during trail runs) to what I record on my chest HR monitor. I am satisfied from that standpoint. What annoys me are all the huge spikes in HR readings at rest and during the night. I do not probably meet the characteristics of the perfect target customer for the S9P; hence, I may care about wellness data from the watch ( and HR reading outside an activity or training) more than the average customer. However I still think this is an issue as these readings may affect sleeping scores and other metrics.

@stas-varazhbit said in Suunto 9 Peak heart rate plateau: My maximum heart rate after a running test is 208, so 210 is no surprise to me. 205 for me on FTP test, but some years ago I got 200 + (check here, with ambit 2 and suunto hr belt new at the time)

I had rain interact with my SSU touchscreen in earlier FW versions so I’m also glad it’s not always on.
