@Egika said in EPOC on S7 vs S9B: I have done a couple of runs using both watches. S9 with chest strap. All values like calories, rest time, heart rate, PTE etc. match well. EPOC does not and is 80% higher, on the S9. Why that? It is because FB vo2 max estimation is very bad if you are not a runner and Don’t do a proper vo2 max test on S9, it will output very large epoc value because it thinks you are in worse shape than what you are. For example if you do a run after a 90km bike ride, s9b will think you are a couch potato. It does not test your vo2 max based on power meter on a bike ride, and it forgets that you had a long activity, it only test your last activity and estimates calorie and epoc based on your last walk/run. For me it goes from good to very poor in a day. When measuing my work output of 1MJ calores should be around 1000-1300 but in my case it said it was over 1800.

@ratisboner said in Suunto 7 - problem with (fused) altitude: that’s exactly the reason to return it. I see, there are S7 witch do their work, but there is also another one who has the same issue. I want to be on track, not spending my time looking for solutions, maybe with the help of assistance, maybe by resetting the watch, maybe by analysing and testing, maybe then the problem is fixed, maybe it comes again… I’ve the possibility to return it within 30 days. Im goint to return it, and give another one a try - I hope ist only a problem of this watch and I’m sure, this is faster than the assistance. You are doing the right thing, I do believe your watch has a hardware issue now. My altitude has been identical to my S9 for 104 exercises since I had the watch in the early fall of 2019.

@Esa-Harju-0 The only one I have found that works is Smart Alarm. It is a stand alone on the watch and does not interact with the iPhone. It will provide an export of sleep data and summaries of sleep. This feature is highly requested on the S7, I hope that sleep is implemented at some point in time into SA and the watch. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fridgecow.smartalarm

@NickK yes 100% agree. I think it might be updates too… I got my new textile strap and tried it today - no change at all same problem. I actually think it is picking up cadence as you suggest, not heart rate - I tried a few faster, slower paces including fast downhill where heart rate doesn’t go up… So is there a fix for this?

Thanks for the replies isazi and NickK. I’ve now tried lots of approaches and it still doesn’t work like before. It’s OK (but not desirable) because I usually only wear the watch during exercise so the watch face doesn’t really come into play.

@Holby19 said in How do you change HR zones on Suunto 7.: @Brad_Olwin got it. Thank you. I will increase the max so the lower zones are more accurate. Is this something that they might change with a future update? I sure hope so, but can’t say for sure. I am surprised it wasn’t configurable out of the box.

@NickK Interesting observations with playback! When I start out it is bad and gets much better. I don’t know if this is interference or some other problem. For the first 0.5km I get a lot of dropouts and then stabilizes and is great. I am using AirPods Pro for my earphones.

For 2 nights in a row for some reason the battery has been draining 45%. Looks like Bluetooth is consuming a lot. After both nights the consumption has calmed down to normal so something is going on during the night. I’m tracking sleep with Sleep as Android but it has been ok before. you’re probably right, I’m just a little bit crazy, I like to think that a little glass can make the difference in a more important “bang”. Knowing that my screen is immaculate under the protective glass makes me feel at peace with myself
