a backup/restore option would be very appreciated, it’s odd hasn’t been implemented yet.

@The_77 sounds like a good idea!! Would be nice to build up the routing functionality. It has already come a long way but this would be nice feature

@surfboomerang Of course, this should be optional. It should not replace the old solution. Whether it is a matter of settings or an installable function (s+). I’m open to that. Alternatively, an open SDK would also be possible here, which you could develop yourself (see Garmin). But I think this is less likely to happen. However, the current navigation is not sufficient for me (and perhaps many others?). Especially if you want to discover the area more spontaneously and still reach your destination.

@Brad_Olwin yes, there is a (kind of) feedback for splits, but very limited (biking: HR, HR Zone, split AVG speed, split time, total time … and you can (only) deactivate the HR & HR Zone) not really flexible (as there is little to start with to select from), and there is especially no route guidance at all. So … it could be more.

@isazi yes, therefore I asked to add an option for such feature so that it won’t change the behavior unless you want to do so.

@Antoine Originally, the topic was about Suunto Vertical (since it is in that category) and requested something similar as Garmin ClimbPro (https://www.garmin.com/en-US/garmin-technology/running-science/physiological-measurements/climbpro-feature/). After that the discussion about the app functionality started in the same topic, since somethin similar started to appear in the SuuntoApp beta version…

@larrybbaker yes. I obviously was not suggesting they discontinue numerical displays. Just adding a choice. I think I must be visualizing this differently than these replies suggest that my words portray. I see it uncluttered, easy to read, and easy to figure out

I wanted to revitalize this topic a bit. I think having the option to see photos of the current conditions on the map would be very helpful. Likewise, a heatmap generated upon the last 30 days/14 days of public activities would be great. Perhaps, to better saturate heatmaps with data, one can decrease the selection options to just foot/wheel/ski or something similar. All of this would be extremely useful around this time of the year when the snow slowly disappears from the mountains, but even from the webcams, it’s hard to judge if it’s already safe enough to hike in a certain region.

@Tieutieu I know that, but… the search engine should support searching for places by coordinates by default. I think so.
