I think this idea of you with crowdfunding a SW is not bad, but now, help me if I am wrong…you wrote “I don’t know who could do the job”, that also means you have no real knowledge in programming? And Suunto clearly has intention to make a working piece of software. I can understand that some users of Suunto hardware want to speed things up a little. But as @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos pointed our several times here, Suunto is merely a small or smaller company, things take their time at Suunto HQ. If you don’t like the time it takes, nor the software delivered, maybe you should take a look around to find something from a competitor which suits your needs more. And do you think writing something like this makes development faster?
