Suunto 5 peak update (2.23.20) failure
-
Hello
When the update reaches 80% (over the air software update), this message will appear on watch: “this is taken longer than expected…”
and it will continue until I restart. (Soft reset)
.
After that and doing a soft reset, there is the same problem again and again.
.
I also tried in the SuuntoLink, but the program does not have the new version of the update and it says that the watch is updated: 2.20.30, but new update is: 2.23.20
.
I don’t need the update, the problem is that it automatically updates at night and practically crashes my watch. It would be nice if I could disable the automatic nightly update, but it seems that such a possibility is not considered…
.
I would be grateful if you could help to solve the problem.
Thanks. -
@Mahyar
try logout and in again and maybe clear cache of your Suunto App.
I would always keep the watch up to date. if you keep having issues updating, let us know -
@freeheeler
Thank you for your attention, unfortunately this solution does not work and the problem still persists.
I hope there is a way to fix this problem, otherwise I have to soft reset every day and it is very annoying.
I wonder why the night update can’t be disabled? It can be useful in situations like this. -
@Mahyar
what if you do the update by Suunto Link? -
@freeheeler SuuntoLink does not have this version (yet?)…
@Mahyar which phone are you using? Maybe some battery saver kicking in on this side? Can you try another phone? Or keep phone alive by touching screen during FW upload?
-
@freeheeler
It seems that Suntolink does not have this version of the update yet! -
@Egika
Thank you for your attention;
I use an iPhone SE 2022 and yes I tried to keep the phone awake during the update, but the same thing happened again. -
@Mahyar hm. this is strange.
I remember having similar issues with a test firmware using an iphone SE as well.
If I remember correctly, I restarted the phone and after some (or many) tries, I finally managed to upload.
Since then it has been all smooth again.
