Ability to broadcast HR
-
Hello, hoping that I‘m in the right section here. Also couldn’t find any topic related to that but please let me know if there is already one open.
Just a feature suggestion. It would be great to have the ability to broadcast your heart rate. Very helpful when you are indoor rowing on a concept 2 for example. Also for indoor biking (Zwift,…)
That way you could track your workout on the watch and with correct HR and keep live track of HR during rowing for example.
Let me know if something like that is coming or what’s your thoughts or if I‘m missing something.
Cheers -
@daveathletic
What I do is simple
I Connect the Suunto heart rate strap to ZWIFT via BT - I connect the trainer with ANT+ to ZWIFT
At the same time, I connect the trainer to the watch via BT and then perform a workout and all the data is saved in the watch. at the end i add the distance according to what appears in ZWIFT -
@Danny-poleg ok, quite a good solution. Seems like a functional workaround .
Any idea how to make that work with a concept 2 rower?
Maybe could work like that as well there. -
@daveathletic
Unfortunately, I don’t know the device, does it have BT transmission -
@Danny-poleg yes it has Bluetooth and Ant+.
But what I can’t figure out is when connecting the HR strap to the rower via bluetooth or Ant+ if I will be able to connect a second device, e.g. the watch, and track the workout.
Thanks for your help, checking already if someone has experience with that on google and YouTube. -

In addition, I think it would be good if the Suunto watches could connect natively to the Concept 2 (PM5?) as my 4 year old Coros did - then you can have all the indoor rowing info on the watch.
I suggested this some time ago, but nothing yet.
As one of the most widely used indoor training devices (and a great sport in it’s own right), I really think this would be a good add for Suunto (as well as multiple BT devices…) -
@Swaddy61 I totally agree. This would be very helpful and I guess it could maybe be fixed with a software update.
DC Rainmaker also mentioned these things in his Race S review, so maybe Suunto has an eye on that, fingers crossed. -
@daveathletic said in Ability to broadcast HR:
the ability to broadcast your heart rate
Totally agree! The missing ability to broadcast heart rate is the only reason I did not yet purchase the Race S
