So there is lot of differences between iOS and Android, unfortunately iOS being the loser one in this race. Hopefully this would be corrected…

@Brad_Olwin I agree with Brad. Garmin metrics are targeted towards improving VO2max which isn’t always the goal. For example, if you increase the training volume but VO2max, according to their somewhat flawed algorithm, isn’t improving, Garmin labels that in unproductive. That doesn’t take into account, that I may be working, for example, on muscle endurance and training on steep terrain. In my opinion, Garmin metrics only make sense for training for road running on distances up to marathon, and don’t work for trail ultra running where VO2max is rarely the limiting factor. Once I understood Training Peaks metrics I thought that they were much better for training - more straightforward and actionable.

@Elipsus let’s make a sports watch with dimensions of a PipBoy. Also, blood pressure monitoring, coffee maker and a camera.

@JD-Harvey I agree. I understand that a lot of people may like the new notification messages but I also find them really annoying. If somebody in the Suunto team would find the time to put an “OFF” switch for that I would be eternally grateful.

@Mff73 said in TbT notifications depending on sport profile.: Something = time ? X seconds before turn. I thought some constant - number. But OK, counted time to turn will be best

Any plans on this ever being implemented? It happen to me a few times as well now. The old computer software for my bike computer from 2009 already had this feature, so it can’t be that hard to do in 2025?

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to use Karoo 3 on the road after switching from Garmin 830. I share the observations: easy to use, without thousands of unnecessary options, fast operation, quick integration with the light, power measurement, heart rate strap, and good integration with Suunto (I train running and use Vertical) except for one parameter - calories are not imported to Suunto from Karoo. In Garmin, this integration was at a lower level, but this may be the fault of Suunto’s developers. [image: 1759139742734-pxl_20250928_133349851.jpg] [image: 1759139757341-pxl_20250928_120759494.jpg] [image: 1759139777186-pxl_20250928_120751983.jpg] Cool display, even at 0% brightness it is visible, no need to turn it up to 100% as some reviews suggest. I had auto-battery saving turned off - the display was on for exactly 3 hours, the battery dropped from 100 to 77%. So, very good for my rides. Karoo definitely gets a plus for the speed of the system, maps, notifications (e.g., about no entry), and easy entry point from Garmin to the new service despite the lack of Polish language support. On the downside, or in need of calibration, the Climb option was a little slow to detect elevation, e.g., the road was already flattening out, but the display still showed the end of the climb. I had a similar experience with Garmin, so maybe it’s a matter of GPS accuracy and location refresh rate.

@Alpha-156.42 Are you saying they had Garmin devices, purchased Suuntos, and are now buying new Garmin devices? That’s gonna cost some serious $$$ (or €€€ or whatever). Especially if it’s any of the new Garmins. It’s probably just a case of preferring what you’re used to. Like others, I’ve tried all the main brands (Suunto, Garmin, Polar, Coros, Apple) and prefer Suunto for the simplicity of the software and the watches themselves. I will say that if you like complete control of your data, Garmin may have the edge as they have a robust mobile and web-based platform. You can also live life with a Garmin and never connect it to a phone, instead using a physical cable connection to a computer or syncing via wi-fi (something I appreciate). But saying that Garmin is less complicated? That doesn’t sound right.
