SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.33.12 - Q1 2024
-
@isazi yes. I was in the activity and after a while I open the map to see which trail I should choose and saw that the arrow was way off and I had to zoom to 2k in order to find the arrow. I looked at the map after this happened and the same thing. It did not center. I will check again tomorrow just to make sure that I did not have the ruler enabled.

@helgonet12
you can check it anytime and no need to wait until your next outdoor activity. just go to the map widget, press lower button and scroll down until Ruler option to see whether it is turn on/off. -
@isazi Just took the dog for a walk and used the walking activity and before starting the activity the ruler was of. And the map is centred as I should be. But if I move the map it doesn’t go back. It stays where I left the map. If I recall correctly on previous version it went back after a couple of seconds. On the latest FV. It does not.
-
But if I move the map it doesn’t go back
maybe it is intentional.
I would be annoyed if the map recenter while I’m looking at It (if I moved it)if it doesn’t stay centered with no interaction, well maybe it’s a bug related to the new ruler
-
@sartoric Since it is possible to double tap to recenter I think like you that this way it is better. I must have moved the map the first time without knowing it and therefore thought that something was wrong. Just curious if in previous version the map re centred itself or not. So everything is ok. . Still need sometime to get used of the functions .

After this update, I found that the lap button is not working correctly with suunto guides. When I press this button I expect to change the lap in suunto guides, but right now it does not happen.
Unfortunately, I found nothing helpful in this update, but found this bug that is pretty critical for me. Are there any options on how to fix it? -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.33.12 - Q1 2024:
“Map ruler” tool to measure the distance in a straight line to any location on the map (VERTICAL and RACE)
Map ruler is very interesting feature. It could be an intermediary stage to Pin a POI and routing directly from the watch…

Hello!
To start with, I’ve been using the S Race for a month now. As far as I’m concerned, nothing was bothering me or causing me any problems before the update (but it all depends on how you use it). I often go out for very long trail rides in performance mode, disabling the Always On screen.
I found the watch extremely responsive before, and never had any problems with the screen being legible when I raised my wrist during a race.
Since the update, it’s become very random. Most of the time, the screen isn’t very bright (the display looks like it did just before switching off) and it’s very difficult to read.
From time to time the problem is solved and then it starts again. I’ve never had that before.
The settings have also remained the same…
I don’t know if it’s related to the update or if I was just lucky before, but it’s still suspicious that this only happened after the update.
Thanks -
@ODo67
I was using similar words for my reports.
it is known to Suunto and I think it needs improvement. let’s hope it gets fixed, soon -
@freeheeler sorry and thanks!

In the next update S. Race, how about leaving the option to choose the backlight of the screen when choosing cycling: off, weak, strong. Or start cooperating with companies like Wahoo, Sigma… and bring the possibility of synchronizing third-party devices with the Suunto app.

fyi issue is still there

It seems that the watch no longer remembers navigation settings and it’s forcing breadcrumbs for each activity, even if it was previously switched off.
I find it a regression but I’m also prepared to hear that it’s actually a feature.
I prefer to have breadcrumbs off when not using routes as it’s just another screen to cycle through and also - it always triggers the best GNSS mode, so I prefer to have it off when not needed.

I scanned the previous posts, but didn’t see anyone else with this issue. I have a SV solar Ti. After the update was installed, I was presented with a debug screen, which unfortunately I did not take a photo of. I needed to hold the upper right button to do a reboot. After that, the watch needed to be re-paired with the phone and reconfigured.
Since then, it seems to be working normally. But the screen was a bit disconcerting when shown right after a firmware update…

Updated today with some error.
Update started good, so i let it, come back ten minutes later to find all black screen i pick it up, push middle button, and it entered service mode which said update error and gave me option to hold top button for 12 sec. I turned it on (actually updated to latest FW), went through initial menu (as if i am starting it for first time ever). Had trouble connecting it to my phone.
Once i connected it, there were no HRV data, or sleep data, or advanced intensity zones as i set them.
Is it normal to reset these things after the update?
-
@mraka this sounds like what I experienced and posted about earlier today. Note that I had to repair with my phone afterwards. I’m running android.
-
@DrSilverthorn What do you mean repair with your phone?
