SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.33.12 - Q1 2024
-
@Adamhert Can you tell us why don’t you buy a cheap watch instead then? These are mainly outdoor watch. And if your main concern is how many steps you do during a day then why do you need outdoor watch in the first place? Why is it so important to know exactly how many steps did you do? Is there some awesome secret training method based on the exact step count? Can you please share it with us so we can learn something new?
-
@gizmo because some nice people like to share more details with this community.
-
@misu763 the watch does restart on its own to install the update, you are not supposed to restart it after.
-
@Zdeněk-Hruška another stupid comment form you. Could not resist to post. I don’t care about steps, but it drives me nuts to have such bad algo. Remove step count from watch if you cant make it work. Just a gimmick… Let me guess, your comment will be something like ‘is your watch making you faster/better, just enjoy outdoors’ or some common bullshit. Let’s all sell our watches lol. Rant over.

After some days of using the new firmware, I did‘t find any new problems until today. But I think, some things are not solved with the new firmware…
- There is still a difference between HRV in the watch and HRV in the App Widget… in the App, the HRV is one ms higher than in the watch… every day
- Can anyone explain why charging from 7% to 99% needs about 60min, and the last 1% from 99% to 100% takes more than 30min?
I know, these are really little problems, but it seems crazy? What do you think?
-
@Likarnik You can watch the trend right? You can see the days you made a lot of steps and you were active and the days you were not. It works like this and the exact number is quite unimportant isn’t it. But thanks for letting me know your opinion it’s much appreciated.

Hi all. During an activity the maps do not center around the arrow. It drifts away and I had to scroll the map in order to find the tracking arrow. If I double tap the screen it goes back to center the arrow. It did so several times during the activity. Have anyone else seen this?
-
@helgonet12 you have the new ruler enabled. With the ruler, you move the ruler around and have to tap to recenter. Without the ruler you should see the behavior you are expecting. If you do not have the ruler enabled, well that is strange.
-
@isazi sorry but I did not have the ruler enabled. I double checked and it was of.
-
@helgonet12 okay, so if during an activity you open the map, it does not stay centered on you?
-
@isazi yes. I was in the activity and after a while I open the map to see which trail I should choose and saw that the arrow was way off and I had to zoom to 2k in order to find the arrow. I looked at the map after this happened and the same thing. It did not center. I will check again tomorrow just to make sure that I did not have the ruler enabled.
-
@helgonet12
you can check it anytime and no need to wait until your next outdoor activity. just go to the map widget, press lower button and scroll down until Ruler option to see whether it is turn on/off. -
@isazi Just took the dog for a walk and used the walking activity and before starting the activity the ruler was of. And the map is centred as I should be. But if I move the map it doesn’t go back. It stays where I left the map. If I recall correctly on previous version it went back after a couple of seconds. On the latest FV. It does not.
-
But if I move the map it doesn’t go back
maybe it is intentional.
I would be annoyed if the map recenter while I’m looking at It (if I moved it)if it doesn’t stay centered with no interaction, well maybe it’s a bug related to the new ruler
-
@sartoric Since it is possible to double tap to recenter I think like you that this way it is better. I must have moved the map the first time without knowing it and therefore thought that something was wrong. Just curious if in previous version the map re centred itself or not. So everything is ok. . Still need sometime to get used of the functions .

After this update, I found that the lap button is not working correctly with suunto guides. When I press this button I expect to change the lap in suunto guides, but right now it does not happen.
Unfortunately, I found nothing helpful in this update, but found this bug that is pretty critical for me. Are there any options on how to fix it? -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.33.12 - Q1 2024:
“Map ruler” tool to measure the distance in a straight line to any location on the map (VERTICAL and RACE)
Map ruler is very interesting feature. It could be an intermediary stage to Pin a POI and routing directly from the watch…

Hello!
To start with, I’ve been using the S Race for a month now. As far as I’m concerned, nothing was bothering me or causing me any problems before the update (but it all depends on how you use it). I often go out for very long trail rides in performance mode, disabling the Always On screen.
I found the watch extremely responsive before, and never had any problems with the screen being legible when I raised my wrist during a race.
Since the update, it’s become very random. Most of the time, the screen isn’t very bright (the display looks like it did just before switching off) and it’s very difficult to read.
From time to time the problem is solved and then it starts again. I’ve never had that before.
The settings have also remained the same…
I don’t know if it’s related to the update or if I was just lucky before, but it’s still suspicious that this only happened after the update.
Thanks -
@ODo67
I was using similar words for my reports.
it is known to Suunto and I think it needs improvement. let’s hope it gets fixed, soon
